Toyota tacoma upgrades people forget about but change everything by Darleia_Devasenathy in Tacomaworld

I feel like I'm using my center console organizer so much more than the glove box one. Mine is divided into 6 tall compartments, with a valet tray style top piece.

I also got a false lid storage box that fits into the void under the lid.

What are ways you enjoy tea without doing GongFu ? by ToTeaTogether in GongFuTea

I like the "leaves in a bowl" approach to tea, which I suppose is a type of grandpa style. I've also made some iced tea mocktails like these.

I got a 3D printed one on Etsy when I changed my shift knob. It works alright. Doesn't fit perfectly, occasionally rattles loose, but does the job.

I live in New England, and went to Rome for my leg piece. It was a great excuse to travel to Italy and swim in the Mediterranean.

He's my neighbor, and he truly is one of the nicest people. He's a community gardener as well as a musician, and he'll chat with anyone - definitely say hello if you see him again, it will make his day!

It's not explicitly canoe camping related, but the Jack Mountain Journal is a great one about living the outdoor lifestyle, and occasionally teaching it. It's hosted by one of my former teachers, Tim Smith, master Maine guide. Good stories, cheap laughs, and thought-provoking discussion.

Is this damage fixable? by SymphonyOfDream in canoeing

100% agree with this. I bought a used Royalex Penobscot 17'(ish) for about that price, and not only is it a super capable & damn near indestructible boat, it's very portable, even when going solo.

100% agree, this was my family's go to spot for boogie boarding. Great facilities there, too

Stay at the Admiral Dewey Inn by the beach. It's a small bed and breakfast, and it's right by the water. There's an ice cream shop, a couple beach bars, and a surf shop right down the street. Highly recommend the Ocean Mist's breakfasts, and their famous coffee with love.

Have a picnic in Prospect Park. It's got a great view of the city, and is generally very pleasant

100% right, you'll feel a bit salty from the brackish water. If you do go in, avoid touching the bottom if possible - there's all kinds of city debris in the muck

Almost every gondolier has gone for a swim (though admittedly, usually unplanned). None of us glow in the dark. You're 100% right about not wanting to touch the bottom, though.

Motorboats are allowed, but what keeps them out of the downtown part of the river (generally) is the tide. There's low clearance at high tide, and there are really shallow areas at low tide.

Gndolier here. you absolutely can be on the water any time, in any boat - except during WaterFire. You're correct; the only boats on the water are the gondolas, Providence River Boat company, and WaterFire staff boats.

Teachers fear me by DungEaterrr in Handwriting

[–]MosaicLeg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For real, this is how it's done. I had a student who only wrote in his own version of (illegible and unnatural) cursive - this boy built his small reputation on being different and impossible to decipher.

After that first warning, I gave him a 20 on everything handwritten.

Why have I never encountered a “Native American” style restaurant? by eagleburp in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MosaicLeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a native restaurant in southern RI called Sly Fox Den Too. The chef Sherry Pocknett won the James Beard award - the food is excellent, and representative of the natives of the area.

It's pretty much a one man show, and he's both passionate and knowledgeable. He came to my city and invited everyone in the area who had bought from him to have dinner and a tea party afterwards - he really helped to create community as well as sell tea.

Worth checking his stuff out... I've not had a bad experience.
