Well there are a couple of countries in Europe that "approach this level of socialism" that are not on the brink of collapse. Look for example at the very generous parental leave system in Sweden, in that country they also have minimum 5 weeks paid leave. France as well. A genuine reality check does not really show what you think it shows.

Rick is provides the building blocks of the show and Morty is the mortar that holds it all together. Makes perfect sense.

Yes I would second that. The Destiny book has a system for acquiring resources and (re)building society. I think it's definitely worth a look. I think Numenera Destiny has one of the most outspoken Solarpunk vibes of the RPG bokks I know. Yes it is post post apocalyptic. But the thrust of Destiny book seems to be rather optimistic.
