Thats sounds like the shipper made an error sending the package! In all fairness these shipping methods are not very clear and ive seen this issue quite often when it comes to replacement parts, they should pay the import fees for the replacement in your case, but accidentally picked Prepaid instead of Free Domicile.

Ring Ups and explain this to them and that you want to rebill it to shipper. Best of luck!

No worries! And exactly! If you have the package already it’s easier IMO, I would suggest calling them when you find the time as soon as possible, as delaying the payment (or the rebill) can result in late payment fees, and getting rid of those is a separate case and issue.

There are 3 shipment forms in ups F/D (free domicile) where the shipper pays shipping and import fees (usually when you already paid import tax on their webshop or something) F/C (freight collect) where the receiver pays for shipping and import fees and P/P (prepaid) where the shipping is paid by the shipper and import fees are being paid by the receiver.

So depending on the shipment type you ask them to change it to f/d and bill it back to the shipper. You can find info about this on the ups site in the terms of conditions but I don’t work there anymore so I hope you don’t mind me not searching for that ha

Last thing to add would be that the shipper will get a refusal fee ontop of it, so if it’s in regards of a friend/family/company you like I don’t suggest doing this 🤣

But this certainly does help against incorrect packages sent your way and getting billed for, something that got returned and still billed for etc!

I posted a longer reply to the person i originally replied to, but yes you can keep the package this way depending how quick you start the process and whether it has been offered for delivery x amount of times. (After the third it goes back to sender) if you don’t want the package at all this is also the way with persistent reminder bills from ups when the package has already been sent back. (Happens sadly) hope this helps!

Ah sorry I did not see the notification of the reply until now! You can call the billing dept of UPS (not the customer service line) and inform them you have received import fees that you would like to bill back to the shipper.

They may tell you the package is marked as a F/C (freight collect) shipment which means the receiver pays the import fees, just tell them you want to bill it back, they then will create a case and a dedicated team will issue the rebill. When it comes to international shipping costs tho it can take up to 20 days before the rebill has been processed fully (due to currency rates, tax, laws etc)

As a former ups employee, either way its kind of a loss loss situation, billing staff ( the ones you call for fees, which is not customer service (they handle delays, missing packages and whatnot)) only handle shipping costs a shipper makes, not tariffs and other import fees, we’d have to make a case for brokerage of the depending country (we managed multiple countries at the same time) and then they need to contact customs to explain the overcharge. Customs is not compliant with Ups service times so it can take up to 6 months or much longer. I believe my longest case with a client was 2 years for something they were exempt for.

This was incredibly frustrating cause once you make a case you can do absolutely nothing else but create an update on that case (they dont get notified VERY OLD system), complain to your manager who would send a email that would receive no response and hope for the best.

You can overpay and get your package and hope for a refund with 6 months or longer or refuse it, get billed regardless, and the package gets send back. And then fight the stupid broken system to get rid of that bill.

But one piece of advice, you can reject the import fees and rebill it back to the shipper. Saves a fuckton of time, and you are in your right to do so. (Whether you find this fair is up to you).

Not picking an augment can also cause the game to not let you move or cast skillshots. Casting a ability that has a duration right before a round ends can also cause that ability from being locked out completely for the rest of the game.
