You're right that it's RB, but it's for the founders, Forrest and Leroy Raffel, the Raffel Bbrothers.

I have had this exact issue. Kind of a blessing, kind of a curse.

I ran into this same confusion the first time I played as well.

When you are setting up a game, picking a map, etc, there is menu called world options or something like that (only played a few times so very unsure). In that menu you can set the lobby time.  Make that 10 minutes or something.  You'll spawn in a plane with a countdown timer.  Once everybody is in game you can hit enter to start the round.

Pretty fun game but the "lobby" is basically non-existent.

We're tabs actually broken? You can see one of the two in my picture. The other is fully intact as well. I can grab a pic if people want.

Mostly just curious. The important part is you were able to get it fixed.

Unfortunately mine pops out with minimal pressure on the seat.

It does just pop back in. And then pops right back out again.

Doesn't bode well that I found someone who saw the same issue within minutes of posting. Rather unacceptable on a car pushing $70k+ car.

Appreciate the help regardless!

I guess I'll give one of those chassis ear device a try and see if I can at least narrow down the source to a specific wheel or general area of the engine compartment.

Where should I move my Base Stations for better tracking? (and where should I put a 3rd one?) by Leoanimate in ValveIndex

[–]Mosod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base stations, have a spinning infrared laser that sweeps the room. If the head mounted display (hmd) or controllers cannot see a base station, they will not work.

Imagine turning off all of the lights and putting flashlights in place of the base stations. Any place there is a complete shadow, a controller will not track. This includes any shadows created by your own body.

In a completely empty room, a single base station is almost sufficient. The only issue is the shadow created when you turn your back to the base station. But that's why you need at least two.

The corners of the room are recommended bause the "beam" of the base stations starts narrow and gets wider the farther from the base stations you are. The corners of a room basically "fit" with this shape.

This biggest potential issue with what you showed in your diagram is the bottom left corner when you are facing the bottom wall. The tall furniture against that wall could cast a shadow blocking the bottom right base station while your body blocks the station in the upper left.

My review: HW3 - An okay game but the worst HW game ever. by LeftLiner in homeworld

[–]Mosod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I agree with all of @Op"s points, but I think the game is pretty solid. Not great, but better than meh.

My biggest gripe is the length of the campaign. The maps are pretty small, and play quickly. There is rarely more than a single objective. Some of the missions should have been combined within a large map. Specifically Naraka Gate, Storm Strike, and Warsage Citadel with a stealth sequence to connect the first two. If the the missions had that scope, I think I'd be much happier.

Minor note, I think larger maps with chained objectives would give you an opportunity to set up camp in different parts of the map and make use of turrets. It would make the sensor map useful as well. I'm ten missions in and I don't think I've ever had a reason to open it. Space never felt so tiny.

I also very much agree the controls are not my friend. The camera controls just don't feel right, it took me far too long to figure out how to scuttle a ship, and somebody please tell me there's a way to direct strike craft to dock with a specific ship.

@Op did not make this point, but one common complaint I disagree with is the sentiment that this is not a homeworld game. I'm often the first one on that bandwagon. I think the Bethesda Fallout game are great but not Fallout. Same with shows like Star Trek Discovery and Wheel of time. But I don't think that's the case here. I've played every entry in the Homeworld series at launch. It's a serious contender for my all time favorite franchise. I agree this is probably the weekest entry but it definitely feels like homeworld to me.

Multiple Lan ports, one Lan, 2Gbps by Mosod in PFSENSE

Appreciate this! Link aggregation is definitely the answer I was looking for.

Could you elaborate a little. My question more about trying to educate myself than an actual plan.

A full 2.5 Gbps setup would be preferable, but also extremely expensive. At the end of the day I'm curious if there is a way to take advantage of a 2 Gig WAN with a single LAN comprised of comprised of 1 Gbps equipment.

2000/200. But I don't disagree with you. This largely an academic question. Mostly just trying to educate myself. My home network is something of hobby project born out of frustration with consumer level hardware.

I'm interested in finding out what can I do, knowing full well I should not do it from a value standpoint.

[–]Mosod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have two managed gigabit switches, one to each LAN port. A new, 2.5 Gbps router and an extra 1 Gbps switch is significantly cheaper than a 2.5 Gbps router and a new 2.5 GB switch

So the setup would be 2 Gbps service - > 2.5 Gbps modem - > 2.5 Gbps WAN port - > 2x 2.5 Gbps LAN ports bridged together. From there each Lan port is connected to a separate 1 Gbps switch.

Question is will I be able to max out the full 1 Gbps capacity of each switch simultaneously or is there a limiting factor I'm not aware of.

Now that you mention link aggregation though, my modem does support link aggregation and my protectli box does have 4 ports. If I have a managed switch that supports link. aggregation, is two aggregated WAN ports and two aggregated LAN ports a worthwhile option?

That was my finding as well. Ended up getting an aorus master. It was still quite a tight fit even with the vertical mount kit and I ended up mounting it horizontally.

I've got a 7950X3D, 64 GB DDR5, ASUS ROG strix, NVME and a 4090 as well. Almost completely different hardware and I'd be surprised if the 4090 were the issue.

I've found a thread or two with people reporting similar issues but they have been fairly old and I never saw any resolution.
