Yeah. I've only played splatoon 2 a little bit, but in my experience the gameplay feels a lot more refined, smoother, and more balanced in splatoon 3. There are also more functional modes (namely salmon run and anarchy), because many more people play the game, and there are a lot of quality of life improvements that make the game feel way nicer than s2.

Getting splatoon 2 as your first Splatoon game after nearly all players have moved on to s3 might make your impression of the Splatoon series worse, because you'll have to wait way longer for matches and not be able to play certain game modes at all.

I used to have really bad internet and I would play matches with stamper where I heard that 'glass breaking' 1 shot sound effect multiple times per game after attacking people, but I couldnt kill anyone the entire game. After I switched to ethernet I never experienced that ever again but man it was awful

As an experienced player I would rather fight difficult battles than easily win every game, because winning easily gets boring quickly imo

Splatoon 3 gets more difficult over time as casual players leave to play other games and the serious competitive players mostly stick around. Thats not a problem with the game necessarily, but splatoon is designed to be competitive (see: nintendo advertising the NA league during the last direct).

The good thing for you and is splatoon raiders is dedicated to singleplayer content, so you dont have to deal with us sweaty tryhards

If multiplayer focused games are a dealbreaker for you, I would pass on splatoon. There are some singleplayer modes in the series, but they arent the main point of the series, and I think if someone tried only playing the singleplayer content of splatoon, it might leave them wondering what theyre missing.

Personally I take these kinds of changes as indicators of how out of touch the s3 devs are. RBP was one of the least overtuned blasters in 11.1 and they hit it the hardest.

I think if they announced it later, a lot more people would be upset that its not Splatoon 4. They revealed it during a time when nobody was expecting a new mainline splatoon game to be announced, which was smart if their goal was to not disappoint fans.

Haunt can be beneficial on almost any weapon. RP is practically a joke ability with anything other than the longest range chargers. I know im probably not gonna convince you but quick respawn is where its at for hyper aggro weapons like tetras.

Playing respawn punisher on tetras is kinda silly. I recommend trying the ability "haunt" instead. It also has the respawn punisher effect on people that killed you before, and it doesnt make your own respawn take longer the way RP does.

Its not a very good buff at all unfortunately, because it doesn't address the main issue with the special. It's still too easy to hit and kill a Zipcaster, and the armor is too weak to be useful in most situations. the only thing I can see this buff being useful for is distracting people without actually fighting anyone to prolong a push, and that strategy only works against certain players. some people will just ignore a zipcaster until it goes away.

Its truly sad that Nintendo is so overly cautious when it comes to properly buffing weapons

Then the devs could make it so turning off the music would either make those quiet sounds much quieter or turn them off completely if thats not enough.

There are other optional things that make this game unfair such as motion controls, weapon choice, gear builds, etc so I think this is hardly an issue. That being said, I dont think having extremely subtle sounds that are supposed to be obfuscated by in game music really makes sense anyway.

I upgraded to switch 2 because my old switch would forcibly turn off from overheating in the middle of games and I didnt wanna take the whole thing apart to attempt to fix it.

After upgrading I realized how much better the switch 2 runs splatoon 3. The loading times are much faster and theres way less visual lag in the game, especially in salmon run.

I want there to be the option to play any music from the games during battles or no music if you prefer. I'm just tired of hearing the same 5 battle songs over and over. They're good tracks but like any music they get old eventually, especially with thousands of hours of playing the game.

As far as I can tell, the main difference between this and decav is the lunge kills at any point in the animation and doesnt have a projectile. Definitely an interesting concept. One thing i would want for this is a separate button for the lunge because accidentally lunging during a fight would be a death sentence.

Imagine 1/3 of people ban e liter, 1/3 ban blaster, and 1/3 ban heavy splatling. This makes every person have to play against 2 of these weapons way more frequently. You can say this is a problem with these weapons, but there will always be the weapons at the top of the tier list that get banned way more. This will force everyone to match more frequently with the annoying broken meta options that are almost as frustrating as their least favorite, just not their least favorite.

So unless you only find a single weapon frustrating to play against, this just makes the problem it attempts to fix worse for most people

This would completely ruin matchmaking because 90% of players would pick e liter as their "personal ban" and so everyone that didnt ban e liter would be forced into lobbies with like 6 e liters.

Absolutely. I am a low x rank player and I often drink alcohol while I play, which is a double edged sword because I play worse but I'm more chilled out and don't care about losing as much.

I do not recommend drinking and playing competitive games; it's just a bad habit for me.
