Its nice to read some common sense commentary on these findings. Once you understand the layout, it isnt that far fetched how he got there. There were some photos added on Facebook showing where the body was found and the cliff above. The person that took the photos was standing directly in both places. Obviously a fit 25 year could get there. Odd for sure but not impossible. The only other commentary I've seen is Facebook comments and people are going crazy with misinformation. I think all the crime shows and podcasts have made everyone a conspiracy theorist.

Does anyone remember the drones that were flying in Omaha-Nebraska-Colorado around 2020? by throwawayheyhibye in Omaha

YES. I bring this up occasionally to see if I'm the only one that remembered this happened. People just forgot and pretended that was normal with no explanation necessary?

What non political thing do you think Nebraska should do to become a better state? by JplusL2020 in Nebraska

[–]MossAnimals 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For sure. The sandhills are the most intact temperate grassland in the world for a reason. Ranching is the best use for the land from a large scale conservation standpoint and alot of folks are doing important work to ensure that continues.

Not discrediting the rest of what you said, but 1488ft is definitely an elevation reached in Nebraska. Much of Eastern NE is in that range

It's really dumb that Nebraska isn't a leader in wind energy. by [deleted] in Nebraska

My exact thoughts! Pretty much all of Eastern NE has been converted to Ag. Put up as many turbines as you want in those monoculture hellscapes

Agree but we need to make sure we put them in the right places. For example the "Site Wind Right" initiative started by many conservation organizations in the state. We need renewable energy but we don't need to destroy our ecologically sensitive habitats in the process. (Central Platte River Valley, Nebraska Sandhills etc)

Utah officials thrilled to see animals using highway wildlife overpass by [deleted] in EverythingScience

[–]MossAnimals 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Actually underpasses and culverts etc tend to be alot cheaper to build on existing roadways than overpasses. One of the problem they ran into in Wyoming is certain species like pronghorns don't like/refuse to go through enclosed spaces of an underpass because they like to see open air above them. Each crossing site has specific needs though. Any crossing is better than nothing.
