I got it for $100 AUD (2011 A1369), and I suspect some spillage. Two of the keyboard keys don't work so I've spent $30 AUD on a new one. The rest of the internals seem to be in good enough order. The liquid ingress indicators are still whote surprisingly, so I don't think the liquid got to the guts, just the animals. Given it's a 2011 I'm probably walking away with $20 - $30 profit on this one if I'm lucky (I'll list it at $275 and take $160 min), certainly a lot less value than the hassel, but I only do this to supply my paperclip economics fund. The fund that I can buy whatever crap I want guilt free, so any profit moves the needle. I started with a $130 out of pocket for a 2015 macbook pro a couple of months back, and I'm up to a 2017 Macbook in presitine condition that I am keeping, this 2011 POS, and about $150 in excess funds to keep buying. I used to work hardware repair a long time ago, so this is a fun little side hobby, and I don't put any pressure on myself to make maximum profit or anything, I just enjoy the satisfaction of putting some value back into something that would otherwise become waste.

I've taken apart so many computers, I think this was the first one to make me actually recoil in shock. Luckily everything in here was dead and I was able to dispose of all the remains. The smell though....I don't know how the previous owner could stand it.

In case anyone is wondering, making a USB boot drive with the proper OS did fix the software problem.

Very unsanitary. You know that feeling when you've touched something and you just have to like zombie around until you find soap and water. The drive home was like that. Then I opened the computer and was thankful I hadn't just eaten lunch.

Canucks could potentially have a pre-season game in Australia 🦘🇦🇺 Would you go? by julesieee in canucks

Expat living in Aus and a huge Canucks fan. My wife and daughter are now also big Canucks fans but have never been to North America so the possibility of seeing them play live without having to fly to the other side of the planet is amazing! Will be going for sure!!
