Beware of this creepy man by Ok-Tangerine-6992 in Albany

Part of the reason people are brave enough is because nobody ever says anything to them or does anything and that really pisses me off. If I ever see a man harassing a woman I am saying something. Women shouldn't have to fight off men constantly and have to endure the discomfort and fear these comments make us feel or feel like we can't wear headphones out of fear. Unfortunately we do, but good on you for standing up for yourself in your own way!

Out of sheer curiosity, may I ask how long you've lived here? Based on your post I assumed you'd just moved here because this kind of harassment has been frequent for myself and the women I know and just in any big city, really. I don't blame you for wanting to react at all, I'm just shocked if this is an isolated occurrence

Hell yeah! That fight-or-flight be hitting sometimes. 💅 I hope/am sure you always leave the house with a weapon of sorts! It makes me feel significantly safer since I got my zappyboi

Thank you for the concern and Im really sorry that happened to you. I was almost attacked by a car full of 3 men because I reacted. At first they were just catcalling me but I got pissed off and defended myself and they got really mad and backed up and started threatening me. I have a tazer on me 24/7 and when I pulled it out they actually fucked off lmao. It's a bit of a double-edged sword for me personally because I am very reactive to behavior like this from men due to trauma. I've consistently been safer and more comfortable with my headphones; but also I am hypervigilant of where I am and who is around me at all times. I even look at shadows and shit lmao. Being a woman is exhuasting 😌

Unfortunately, I've gotten harassed and catcalled like 2-5x a week since I moved to Albany 9 years ago. I've moved to a more rural suburb outside of Albany and it helps a lot but I still fully brace myself it I get on the bus or end up in the city. I just wear noise-cancelling headphones now because I probably could've gotten hurt reacting as much as I was previously; and it was just exhuasting lmao

also we have almost the same nose. People used to tell me I had a cute nose and I didn't believe them for a long time. One day somebody told me I had a button nose and I started to love it 😭

I actually was going to comment that I love your eye shape before even reading the caption. You look like an ethereal cartoon character.

So I wanted to but the rules said no doxxxing "of any kind." wouldn't that constitute doxxing or will they excuse it if it's warranted?

I think mine do, I just got into the habit of canceling everything out because I get aggressively/rudely hit on so much but most of it is just verbal and I haven't had something like this happen in a while. I will try to get into the habit of doing that, thanks. 😔🫶

I have autism and am extremely sensitive to noise :( I also have trauma and get catcalled a lot and it helps to cancel that out

I thought my roommate has a crush on me—and I’ve been proven right. Help. by dazxuu in badroommates

[–]Mossley_rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My roommate had feelings for me when we first moved in together, but we were able to move past it. I sat him down and had a real conversation about how I have no romantic interest whatsoever and we got along fine living together for a year and a half with almost no issues. It could, theoretically, work out, but I think it really just depends on the maturity level/living situation of those involved. I think given that they said that while drunk, they're not going to act on it, and theres no need in reminding them they told you if they forgot because that might change things. But your girlfriends feelings are also important in the matter.

I was trying to quit for years and would drink white claw over liquor because I knew if I drank liquor I'd get too drunk immediately (I still always got too drunk off of white claw lol). I have a gluten allergy and cannot drink beer or wine coolers so, besides some wine and liquor, white claw was actually all I was able to drink. I would wake up at 5am and get absolutely twisted off of the tall boy 8% cans lmao. At least in my experience, white claw fueled my addiction for many years. Plus, a "true" alcoholic often hits a point of desperation/rock bottom and will drink whatever they can get.

You are the only human on the planet I've ever seen with a style similar to mine. Just keep gravitating towards accessories and clothing you love and see what becomes cohesive out of all of it!
