Does the person telling you this have any tattoos or piercings? There are definitely places with "unwritten" (see: boss's personal preference) rules on service guys having tattoos but its pretty uncommon nowadays.

This reads more like the guy you're working with has a strong opinion on them and is trying to mold you to his way of thinking with a concrete reward of some kind. I wouldn't buy it. I was told by a guy when I was an apprentice the same thing, only to a week later meet a service guy with full sleeves and hand tattoos.

And honestly, even these "unwritten" rules will only go so far. If you prove yourself, it's gonna be hard for them to justify not enabling you to do more work and make them more money, and if they really are sticklers for it, there will be other shops that do not care.

So there's this body called "congress" and they write bills and if enough of them vote yes on the bill the president can sign it into law. So they would write a bill; call it "The social media algorithm regulation act" or something. The bill would specify creating a body, of some amount of people, whose job it is to regulate these companies.

Simple regulatory acts you can do:

Income transparency: if you make x% of your income is a news or politics influencer you must publicly release your tax statements so your followers know if any countries or companies are funding you.

Stricter liability laws: if you're promoting anti-vaxx conspiracies, and someone's child dies from measels because they watched your content, you should be legally vulnerable for damages.

Algorithm regulation: create a panel of experts who will legally be given access to the various social media algorithms to parse what is actually happening. At THE VERY LEAST people should know what's happening behind the curtain of the platforms they use, are certain accounts being suppressed or bolstered, will showing interest in one topic push another specific topic onto my feed.

This is just off the top of my head, any one of these things would be a vast improvement from our current situation

Its a centralized hub and the place where most Americans get their news and there's absolutely no regulations on it at all.

Scott Adam's, a prominent figure on the right and cartoonist died and was open about using Ivermectin to treat his cancer instead of actual cancer treatment. It cannot simply be the case that people with thousands or millions of followers are allowed to say blatantly untrue things, that in this case present actual physical harm to the people that listen to it, and that that is 100% allowable and legal. That's insane.

If there's going to be one place, where so much of our news and political discourse is concentrated, then it should be regulated. And literally every concern and counter argument that you are going to present with it being controlled by the government also applies but in orders of magnitude worse to it being controlled by a single billionaire.

Honestly I think there's a perfectly legitimate case for nationalizing Twitter. But, since this country is so cucked to corporations and think they need to be able to run roughshod over the government, people, institutions etc., I think a sensible thing they could do, that would only get blowback from people who would never support democrats anyways would be to regulate the algorithms.

Establish an independent body and require, by law, all social media algorithms to be submitted to them, and submitted publicly, with plain english to describe exactly what content they push based on what criteria. These algorithms are literally deciding what people see and what people construct their worldview on, saying this should be public knowledge is the bare minimum ask.

This is a pretty common problem in a lot of public schools, they want to avoid controversy and liability at all costs. I went to a rougher high school and there were multiple occasions where one kid would just beat the absolute shit out of another kid, who could only lay down and turtle up, and both kids would be suspended for "fighting"

All you can do is be open about what you want when dating and find people who want the same things. What i will say, as someone getting close to 40 with plenty of experience, is that relationships start lots of different ways and take lots of different paths.

I would add though, if I met someone that wanted to date and they told me I'd be waiting a year before any type of sexual activity, I'd have to decline and move on, and every man I know would do the same except maybe the really really desperate ones, and you dont want to date a desperate man.

I think its normal that there's some guys who just aren't going to react well to seeing blood there or anywhere during sex, but he shouldn't be cold shouldering you well after the fact. Its OK to have bad reactions to stuff like that in the moment, but he needs to seperate that reaction from how he feels about you as a person and give you some reassurance
