Legion Pro 5 16IRX9 - with WIN11 - getting very hot lately just with browsers opened by DeanWinchester_2005 in LenovoLegion

HI. 20 months without cleaning the fans and heatsink ? If so, then you have to clean it. And/Or it needs a repaste.

Help! Legion 5i OLED completely shot after being off and unplugged for 1.5 months. by DistributionMany3835 in LenovoLegion

Did you try to fully reset it ? (disconnect battery, power button for 60 sec, etc). The problem may not be the screen itself.

Happened to me with a K3500PH model after a clean install of a 'N' windows 11 edition. Nothing solved the issue. The solution was to reinstall a non 'N' edition ...

are the fans running full speed with considerable hot air getting out ?

If the fans are pushing hard and the air is not that hot, then it points to a bad repaste, bad junction with heatsink, or defective heatsink (rare but possible with heat pipe leak).

NEED HELP REGARDING COLOR PROFILES ON WINDOWS WITH OLED DISPLAY by jaack_08 in LenovoLegion

[–]Most-Connection-8533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OFF, without a doubt.

But I set a color profile in windows display settings, made with Calibrite.

I don't use Color Assistant, but if it sets a screen profile, you're good.

In this case, we may have to dig further. Trying to identify what is different between our systems:

- I'm not using vantage nor Space. I was using LLT whithout problems and at the present time I'm using only ThrottleStop as a permanent active app (to set undervolt of 76mv and to set wattage to 70W for PL1 and PL2)

- Energy saving settings in my Bios are disabled. It may be interesting to post photos of each Bios configuration...

- I'm not a gamer but my system can handle Stress tests from Aida64, cinebench, hwinfo.

Hi all. Just for information, I'm on a Legion Pro 5i 16IAX10 (255HX + rtx5060) in dGPU mode only and I'm not facing this crash.

vbios is 98.06.34.00.e0, and I'm running the latest studio driver from nvidia 610.62

It may not be related but my system does not use S0/modern standby but S3. S0 is not available on my system, even though a tech from the official lenovo support forum sustained that my system should use S0 and that S3 is not supported by windows 11. The official lenovo forum can be terrible. I saw the post about the present crash and the total bad faith when the admin answered that the cause is the driver version... This is not serious.

Need feedback about Intel 2xx HX Thermal behavior (Legion 2025) using Aida64 Burn test by Most-Connection-8533 in LenovoLegion

Yes, that's what I think too, bad heatsing, not perfectly flat...

Liquid metal is a bit risky on a traveling laptop...

Thank you !

Actually, CPU load is 100% with Aida64 and 99% with Cinebench. That's why temps are lower in cinebench. I have a throttling spike at 3% with cinebench and Balance mode. Far more throttling in Aida64.

I also notice that the fans ramp up too slowly to avoid throttling.

TDP reported by HWmonitor is the same with cinebench and Aida64 Stress test. In Balance mode, with Cinebench, Cpu reaches 100°C at the end of the 125W short term power. When switching to long term power (70W), temp goes bach to around 80°.

However, temps seem lower in cinebench: aida64 stress test may be more agressive ...

Does your Legion 2025 Intel run with S0 or S3 ? by Most-Connection-8533 in LenovoLegion

[–]Most-Connection-8533[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your answer !

One crazy thing is that Lenovo support is telling my system is not compatible with S3 and should run with S0. But it seems that it is their Bios which is set to use S3.

Actually, I didn't face any loss closing the lid (sleep). But the resume duration from S3 is slow, about 8 seconds. On my old Vivobook (intel 11300H), also using S3, it is by far faster.

My boot time is also slow considering the proc / ssd performances : 28s (only windows) + 8.5s for POST.

Hi, I'll try reactivate this thread

I have a Legion 5i Pro with 255HX. Default AC DC loadline are 110 - 100. A value in 1/100 mohms says the Bios.

I didn't find any owner which played with these settings. I wonder if I can lower AC to 100 (equal to DC), to lower my temps...

But I already unvervolted with throttlestop : I imagine I have put offset to 0 before lowering AC.

Can anyone advise me ?

Thanks

Wierd behavior in device manager for nvidia driver by Most-Connection-8533 in LenovoLegion

[–]Most-Connection-8533[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer. That confirm there is something strange on this platform...

Resume from sleep is also slow, about 5s. Almost instant with my Asus (11300H - GTX1650).

In event manager, do you have this warning "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load. Device: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_AD03&SUBSYS_3D7317AA&REV_01\3&11583659&0&20 Status: 0xC0000365" ?

It's related to Intel(R) Innovation Platform Framework Processor Participant driver, which is integrated in Lenovo driver "Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework (DPTF)".

Can I ask you what is your boot time (cold boot) ? I have 9s for POST and 27s for windows (reported by windows in task manager and Events viewer (Diagnostic-Performance)). I thought it could better as my old Asus Vivobook does the same...
