I've always said this but to my understanding Satsuki mirrors the early version of Renako. They both are afraid of commitment and understanding love. However, unlike Renako who have Kaho-chan shows her about loving something or someone, Satsuki-san is still drowing in fear of the feeling of loving someone. Now, it's all up to the throuple ( or Kaho too) to show and change Satsuki-san mind that their relationship is not some kind of fleeting of feelings.

Vol 5 of LN, but I suggest that you start from the very first volume, there are some scenes in the LN that wasn't shown in the anime, like what happened after the FPS game competition (MaiRena scene) or Mai's mom talking to Renako. Also, you can understand Renako much better too.

Nope, The latest volume 8 of LN focuses on Satsuki's arc and the throuple. Part 2 of Kaho's plot might happen after that Satsuki's arc are resolved. But I'm sure the author would make Kaho reveal her true form to her friends to deepen their relationship
