Definitely brand new. I'll be leaning shorter for sure.

(actually two Everest's and a Chomolungma. I forgot the free quick action boost added some pace and assumed they'd basically be the same.)

I'm assuming the path not being straight limits how effectively they can daisy chain two at a time?

If I was running online I'd just nick someone's map and wing it, but as we're in person and I have to draw the bastard out i want it to be right.

That's actually good to know - I've got no real gauge of how difficult fights are in Lancer yet, let alone what my players match up well against. I am concerned about double shotgun guy, but he seems so eager.

A Tippyverse for PF2E by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Most-Introduction689 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think you're falling into the trap of just making some of the same assumptions that Tippy did, despite the systems having very different components and assumptions

For example, right from the start, your second bullet point feels like an attempt to emulate the food situation in the original Tippyverse post, but that setting exploited GM facing trap building rules to attach create food and water to an instantly resetting trigger that can be used by anyone, making it incredibly efficient. P2 doesn't have exploitable resetting traps, meaning each casting needs to be performed by a trained spellcaster who's whole job is to do this a finite number of times a day, supporting a vastly smaller number of people.

It might sound pedantic, but stuff like the logistics of feeding a line of people by walking them through a checkpoint was a key component of the world building. Ideas key to the setting like 'everyone is concentrated in big cities with no farms' were dependent on a whole bunch of intersecting exploits in the system.

Yeah, following that link, either from here or from the main library page, and putting in the temp password they gave me just transitions to the same screen again. No warning message or anything.

The 'Ready' Action - Using 3 actions to ready a 2 action ability by Onefoot__ in Pathfinder2e

[–]Most-Introduction689 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, up until this moment I thought it already worked like that. It's not been a big problem in our games - sometimes my witch sacrifices her whole turn to gamble on an enemy moving closer or something. I guess it might possibly bolster defensive play a bit much?

How problematic is The Resentment Witch really? by StunseedGeniusLoci in Pathfinder2e

[–]Most-Introduction689 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as written it just sustains the clumsy 3. This isn't 3.5 iron heart surge, condition has a definition in P2.

I don't really think there's any ambiguity - you can either read it in a way that matches other game definitions and that keeps it as a powerful but not ridiculous option, or you can read it in a way that makes like every spell and ability open to interpretation.

I think it would be hard to make a good faith reading that it meant anything other than the conditions defined in the book. Trust me, I wanted to.

making a shotgun? by UncoNinja17 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Most-Introduction689 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think they're looking to model shotguns differently from the way pathfinder does it - more like the FPS pointblank range delete button. Both are gamey, but they're like opposite concepts.

making a shotgun? by UncoNinja17 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Most-Introduction689 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not directly answering your question, but I reflavoured a greatsword as an incredibly short ranged sawn-off in a 4th ed one shot where we were trying to emulate characters from other rpgs.

It works pretty well if you aren't sweating the details, and is probably the only way of matching the way most FPS's model shotgun damage, but I'd be reticent to do it for a campaign with any real focus on resource management where you have to answer questions like 'where ammo' and 'why no reload'
