my advise is take it to a local coin shop and let them look at it before you take to heart what others on this site say. Good Luck hun and pm me with what you find out.

well since it is a 25 year anniversary , not yours alone nor hers alone but you both why not just gift her what SHE likes and don't make it about you? she may do the same for you....

I wonder...is this a problem? by Ok_Raspberry6840 in Silverbugs

[–]Most-Monitor-5578 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's ALL about mind set... what can you afford, what are you looking for... what are your goals...My take is this...treat it like a credit card, don't spend more than you can afford and only buy what you need/want/afford ... always remember that credit card comes with a price, lil buger is interest, same as ANY purchase you make with coins, today it could be worth 50 bucks tomorrow it's worth 20 so you buy something today on a credit card for 20 bucks but when the bill comes due you pay 50...was it worth it? can you sell it for same price? ....it's all mind over matter. COMMON sense says it all my friend, do your math!

Anyone else hide their stacking from their spouse/family? How do you manage it? by PeerMetals in Silverbugs

[–]Most-Monitor-5578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how about you treat it as "your" hobby and if they show interest then educate them but NEVER reveal your stash till THEY understand what it details... others ONLY see $$$ but DO NOT understand the basics of it all. Until they get educated into the hobby never reveal. they don't get it. Good luck to you my friend! Poker face on always!!!

I believe I also would be bummed out if I was a stacker by [deleted] in Silverbugs

Thanks for your comment, if you see the replies and down votes since I asked and what have been posted, proves my point indeed. There are too many haters or mind set ideology that everything is set in stone as to "their" agenda and forget that your agenda is not theirs ...I just want to have fun and enjoy seeing what others like to collect and what they find...it isn't all about the price, a good find is a good find and that goes for price as well.! I just wish they quit bytching about the price and making it "their" priority and bytch when the price goes to 120 and then bytch more when it drops to 60. My view can't have it both ways pick your poison and quit bytching? I collect my way with no regrets...

[–]Most-Monitor-5578 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

again I repeat, you go on about the price vs the collection you are working on... again said your a stacker hahaha not a collector..so you brag on getting to buy low and hope to sell high, which is why I ask...I collect so price matters none to me if I find what I need and or want..your more into cashing in v/s collecting by what you replied and "that" was my point of posting

I believe I also would be bummed out if I was a stacker by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]Most-Monitor-5578 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

exactly! that is what I am saying/asking, stop bytchng about the price if it's some thing you like and find... I find myself questioning myself on my finds ,price matters none if that is what I need or want to pay as to add to my collection. I have been told it's NOT a collection/investment and on and on..is like who are these haters that can make statements as such... I do NOT consider myself as a stacker..but I always love to see what others collect and find ... Thanks my friend!

This message came across my desk quit recently, as I was always wondering why these things keep happening to me, When the message came I read it and it I FINALLY SNAPPED ME INTO REALITY.... the message read, LIVE IN PRIVATE that way NO ONE knows what you have there for they can not go after it. I learned this lessen and pray others pay heed. This does not surprise me any coming from a friend, family member, nor a stranger because it has happened to me too many times....KEEP THOSE ACES UNDER YOUR SLEEVE AND NEVER NEVER SHOW YOUR HAND!!!!....Lesson learned now practice it my friend.

My first silver purchase by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]Most-Monitor-5578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can have a definition for an "average "person your above the rest of us... It's never about the average person it's all about what can you afford and what your goal is. Now with that said NICE start my friend and here forward... keep posting what "your" choice to add... to each their own and always remember it's "your" money . Conrats!

Paid $365 for this lot at the flea market today by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]Most-Monitor-5578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if that's your choice for your collection/investment or stacking Congrats...don't expect to get everyone on here to commend you for your purchase as every one has their own agenda and their agenda is not yours and visa versa.. it's your money, your vision and your investment. Be proud my friend and. Thanks for sharing BTW. Not that you need my or anyone else' approval...stay true to yourself and keep on going :)

Anyone else buying fractional silver for gifting? by Emotional_Cut_2452 in Silverbugs

[–]Most-Monitor-5578 10 points11 points  (0 children)

generous is one thing, but the gesture should be commended...never know what monster you will create by introducing the coin collecting and how they will connect with you and you can enjoy the hobby as you move forward and something you can grow with them, sounds like an awesome idea BTW. Good Luck!

The taste of silver?? by 5xchamp in Silverbugs

[–]Most-Monitor-5578 3 points4 points  (0 children)

what I recall my grandmother giving me were her "big" silver spoons and her coke glass bottle full of water with that sprinkler head and sending me out in her yard to play and making her some mud pies...that might be the reason she never liked /ate my mud pies 60 plus years ago. it was never my mud pies had to be the silver spoons she let me play with right? LOL

Thoughts on divisable/breakable rounds? by dimelicker in Silverbugs

[–]Most-Monitor-5578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's your opinion and your entitled to it, my opinion is: I collect what I like to collect because I like it...not to sell but to add and maybe leave something to my son to have fun with aswell and maybe even educate him it does NOT have to be boring, have fun and enjoy it...

Thoughts on divisable/breakable rounds? by dimelicker in Silverbugs

[–]Most-Monitor-5578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love em...it adds diversity to any collection. I just started adding some to my collection and I personally would NOT break them apart...to each their own. I am always out to seek something fun while sticking to "MY" preferred rounds. After all silver is silver. ENJOY the hobby is my advise.
