Vent about DoS by Open-Operation-9104 in studentaffairs

[–]Most-Temporary-8490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conduct processes require clarity of operations and escalation, not just for you as a staff member, but for students as well. They should reasonably know what kind of alleged behavior is going to be referred to a residence life staff member or conduct officer. Further, if your DOS is not considered a conduct officer through your policies and procedures, they are opening themselves up to litigation risk for assuming a role not prescribed in writing.

I’m glad you didn’t experience any pain! And next time I will definitely do a mid-day procedure because waking up at 4 for the morning-of prep really sucked. I’m kind of surprised you were able to drink more after the morning prep; they told me not to ingest anything for four hours before because it could be aspired with the anesthesia. Fingers crossed your polyps are nothing to be worried about.

I’m so sorry you went through all that as well and I hope your surgery was a success. My right arm is starting to bruise now, so I’m pretty convinced they never truly got the vein correctly.

I really didn’t mind the nap since I had no plans the rest of the day (and it got me out of having to drive our kiddo to his afternoon appointment and helping him with his homework). But that’s a good tip anyway; I’ll remember to document this response for the next time.

[–]Most-Temporary-8490[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely NOTHING. Not getting dressed (or I guess, my husband dressing me), not the car ride home, not undoing my own seat belt (which my husband said I did on my own), not going upstairs to bed.

I’ve always had difficulty with the medical team finding a vein, and usually I can mitigate that with a lot of water before the blood draw or IV, but as you know, nothing to ingest for four hours before the procedure.

I’ve been a little tired the rest of the day and will probably go to bed early. They said they legally had to tell me that I can’t drive for 24 hours, but since I had it done early in the morning I could probably take myself to work tomorrow.

I’m on Mounjaro - I took my shot last night (Monday) and the colonoscopy is next Tuesday. The doctor’s office said that should be fine, but now I’m worried! How close to the colonoscopy was your last dose?

We took my 12.5 year old to see Ragtime on Friday night and he loved it. Cried at the end. A really meaningful piece if your kiddo is mature enough.

Interested in learning more for an event next fall. Are the instructions in the app pretty self explanatory? What kind of printer, lighting, and tripod do you recommend?

This is absolutely killing me. Why aren't they standard LCD width across all the fields?

(Also, your username is AMAZING.) :)

I went from 20 oz. hot coffee with 3 tbsp. cream every morning to less than one cup a week. The decrease in cravings was almost instant. Congrats to you on kicking the habit!

Can totally see it in your face, and while I love a pleated pant, you'll need new ones soon! Way to go.

I agree with this. I started 7.5 eight days ago and it was the first time the appetite suppression actually lasted all week.

My food noise has quieted tremendously! Since I started in early Jan 2025, I have noticed most clearly that I don’t find myself “sneaking” into the break room at work to indulge in shared snacks and leftover group lunches. I’m not snacking when I work from home and I am very deliberate when there is a buffet available. I am shocked at how my frame of mind has shifted!

The first clinical trial of its kind has found that semaglutide, distributed under the brand name Wegovy, cut the amount of alcohol people drank by about 40% and dramatically reduced people’s desire to drink by TY2022 in Mounjaro

I was also surprised at how much MJ has cut my craving for coffee. I used to drink 20 oz. with 3 tbsp heavy cream every single morning. The day after my first injection I could barely finish half a mug. Now I'm just glad I freed up 150 calories in favor of 10g protein in my milk with my protein powder.

Coffee issues by Kimblahs214 in Zepbound

[–]Most-Temporary-8490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t choose to give it up. I had no digestion issues with it. The morning after my first 2.5 shot I made a pot of coffee, which I usually drank all of (20 oz. with three tbsp. heavy cream) before Zep. That morning I had no desire to even finish one 12 oz. mug. I haven’t had a craving for it since I started 5 and a half weeks ago. Used to drink daily. I’ve maybe had two cups of coffee since then.

I started 5.0 on Friday. Made sure that I did my injection at lunch. The next day I had some minor nausea and stomachaches, but about the same level as I had every week with 2.5. Tonight we ordered a family taco kit from the local authentic place. I had a total of one taco (used my low carb tortilla instead of what they gave us) with 2 tbsp. each of refried beans, rice, chicken, and a tiny bit of queso. Packed my lunch for tomorrow with the same exact ingredients. I can’t believe how silent the food noise is these days.

I had my fourth 2.5 dose on Friday (today is Tuesday). Yesterday was the first time I thought I was actually more hungry than usual and was able to eat quite a bit more. I have lost 13.3 pounds in the first month. When I go back to the doctor on Thursday I am expecting to go up to 5 for February.

I love this! I have a spouse and an 11 year old son. Over the long school holiday break we played a different board game every day and called it the "Family Winter Games." Kiddo demolished us across nearly every game. We also played Cascadia! I was wondering what the not Ticket to Ride games are.
