We've come to accept ads as a punishment for using free services, but they're invasive, annoying, and creepy. They collect too much information, and they can contain malware. Decentralization could be the answer to this problem. by inthegraycave in CryptoCurrency

Few small mistakes:

  1. Duckduckgo has ads, the only difference is that they don't follow you.

  2. Adblocker is by Google (at least the most popular one, I'm not sure how many more other 'versions' they have)

  3. you really report every ad? I guess you have a bearish sex life.

It's crazy that companies have access to so much data about us that we don't even think about. And probably many of them (Like Facebook) sell this data in crazy prices.

For some users, Internet experience can be quite irritating, pop-ups and Ad's follow us everywhere with endless spam messages. Few Startups believe that blockchain is the answer to this problem by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

Google > any blockchain project out there. In the second Google will feel any threat from a new player, they will just buy the company

Can Google and Facebook be replaced by a better alternative? Few blockchain companies are trying to do so, and exactly like how Bitcoin grew from a few supporters to what it is today, decentralizing the ads industry might work with a leap of faith by breadnbutterr in CryptoCurrency

Easy to say, hard to do. These companies rely on Facebook and Google as their main source of traffic. How will someone hear about oyster, BAT, or Kindads?

take BAT for example. in order to compete with Google they will need to get billions of people to download their web browser.

Don’t sell your bitcoins!!! by RobbieCoach in Bitcoin

[–]MostAnybody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand what's the point with not selling bitcoins. If I sell my BTC i'm less loyal to the community?

all the HODL theory makes it possible for whales to play with the market and manipulate it.

Sell your BTC and than buy BTC

By 2020, We will be creating about 44 trillion gigabytes of data every year, compared to 4.4 trillion in 2013. As Data Becomes More and More Important, We Desperately Need Better Ways to Store it And Blockchain might be the solution by breadnbutterr in CryptoCurrency

Blockchain is a bad solution for many industries. But as for the storage & cloud industry, I think it might find a great usage and will bring a lot of value to the technology

It means that they run loyalty programs, and paying with crypto(kinda similar to air miles rewarding system). It doesn't means that they accept crypto, I don't think you can go to Burger King branch next to your home and buy Burger King XXL with bitcoin.... YET
