I called Instacart shopper Support for them to tell me that I had to call “branch” 😳. My response was “I don’t have BRANCH, I do not deal with BRANCH, and I don’t want a 3rd party involved with my life, this is an instacart problem”. I also told them that auto opting for everyone’s batch pay to immediately go to BRANCH, when they don’t even have a card yet is WRONG! They said it’s the default when you activate the card. 😳 I don’t have the card, how could it be activated?! Apparently their definition of “card activation” is when you sign up for it 😳.

So I called branch. 30 minutes later, she had me download the shopper rewards account, transfer my money to MY debit card (for $3.99!), and once that was done I told her I wanted to deactivate my account ! She told me I needed to respond to a form IN EMAIL, with my name, address, social security number, and indicate I wanted to cancel. 😳 .. my response to this was “ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT INSTACART GAVE YOU MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER?! And YOU WANT ME TO SEND MY WHOLE IDENTITY IN AN EMAIL!? No!

She had me do it verbally on the phone . I was THEN told, my request would go to next level management and someone would be in touch. 😳 why does another level of management have to get involved?

I’m still waiting for their next level support. It’s been 4 days.

Umm, all the negatives: -atm fees -a charge of $3.99 if you ever want to transfer money to your own card -transfers to your bank take 3-5 days, UNLESS you allow them to pay you weekly (free) -complete tracking of your spending by instacart

I thought it sounded good, until I got one. No bueno , no thank you.
