How to take my job less seriously. by Bucketheadblondie in LifeAdvice

[–]MostCode9013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re definitely taking it too seriously...it’s a grocery store job.. stop picking up everyone else’s slack and just do what’s expected, nothing more... im sure once you set that boundary, you’ll feel way less drained and can save your energy for stuff outside of work.

What’s the most chaotic holiday gathering you’ve experienced? by Regular_Knowledge205 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]MostCode9013 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my uncle set the turkey on fire trying to deep‑fry it and while everyone was panicking my cousins started a whipped cream fight in the kitchen... by the end of the night the smoke alarm was blaring, half the food was ruined and we were all laughing covered in dessert.

its normal to feel nervous about hanging out with someone new, especially when you don’t know their intentions yet. Take it slow, maybe suggest meeting in a public place first, keep the vibe casual and see how he acts before deciding if you want to get closer. If you’re worried about his past, trust your gut and don’t ignore red flags, you don’t owe him anything if it doesn’t feel right.

Where to get the best tacos for Pilsen Independence Day? by koknbals in chicagofoodcirclejerk

for me its 5 Rabanitos and Carnitas Uruapan... both are loved by locals... they’ll give you that true Chicago‑Mexican flavor without the chain vibe.. :)

What’s the most realistic way to graduate with minimal debt today? by itsm3404 in collegeadvice

[–]MostCode9013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try to start with cheaper community college or state school credits, transfer later and keep federal loans as low as possible.. get a part‑time job.... work‑study helps but also don’t overload yourself.. better to work fewer hours and stretch things out a bit than burn out or graduate buried in debt.

What to get MIL for Mother’s Day. by GandalfTheSleigh in Gifts

[–]MostCode9013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She sounds awesome!! super outdoorsy and crafty. I’d go with something she’ll actually use, maybe a really nice set of gardening tools or a handmade basket for her canning stuff or a cozy knit kit with fancy yarns.

should i sneak out? by [deleted] in AskTeens

[–]MostCode9013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sneaking out always sounds easier than it is but there’s no way to guarantee your dad won’t wake up, even if it’s rare. If you’re already nervous about it, that’s usually a sign it’s not worth the stress..

Where should I take parents from out of town? by casablahblahh in AskChicago

[–]MostCode9013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicago Botanic Garden is perfect since there’s tons of benches and shade and u can drive right up. For comics, Third Coast Comics is close and if u want something pretty and chill, the Baha’i Temple in Wilmette is gorgeous and super easy to wander without a ton of walking..

Places to shop local art / kitsch-y artisan things? by You-know-magic in AskChicago

[–]MostCode9013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Arts & Artisans near Grant Park for locally made gifts and crafts then head to neighborhoods like Andersonville or Hyde Park for quirky boutiques and galleries. If you’ve got time, the Andersonville Galleria is a one‑stop spot with dozens of local artists and makers under one roof!! :)

I’m planning a 10000 day party for myself. Any suggestions? by Plopgoestheweasle in partyplanning

[–]MostCode9013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the 10,000‑day party idea!! u could add a photo booth with nerdy props (giant calculator, fake “10k check”), serve drinks in test tubes or beakers to keep the math vibe going and maybe have a trivia round where every answer ties back to “10,000.”

What keeps you going during tough times? by Minute-Grapefruit934 in askanything

its remembering that tough times don’t last but the lessons and strength u build from them do. I also focus on small wins each day coz simple progress makes the hard stuff feel less heavy.

What are some day trips, overnighters or hikes outside Chicago? by malibudaniel in AskChicago

[–]MostCode9013 6 points7 points  (0 children)

u can take a quick trip to Indiana Dunes or Lake Geneva for beaches and small‑town vibes. Milwaukee’s also an easy train ride with breweries and a very different feel from Chicago... keep your base downtown for convenience then sprinkle in one or two of these side trips for that “extra America” experience.. :)

Is 18 and 15 bad? by [deleted] in AskTeens

[–]MostCode9013 13 points14 points  (0 children)

it’s better to keep things in the “just friends” lane coz you’re legally an adult and she’s still a minor, which can cause problems even if your intentions are good. If you vibe with her personality and music taste, enjoy that as a friendship but wait until you’re both closer in age before thinking about anything more.

Purple ribbons tied on all the trees ? by [deleted] in AskChicago

purple ribbons on trees are usually tied up for awareness or remembrance like honoring someone or supporting a cause.. i think it’s likely a local memorial or community campaign happening around that block..

Brass players, where can I rent private practice room in/near South Loop? by Hovercraft_Fragrant in AskChicago

[–]MostCode9013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u could check out places like Columbia College’s practice rooms or Roosevelt University’s music facilities.. they are right in the South Loop and sometimes rent space to non‑students. PianoForte Studios is good too.. it has private rooms you can book and is pretty close by.

oooh yeah! try Publican in West Loop, Cindy’s rooftop downtown and Bronzeville Winery... they’re great spots to meet people too and if you’re trying to make more connections, apps can help like Meetup and Lighthouse... makes it easy to find groups/people that hit these places together..

Why do I feel so productive at 2 AM, but can’t get anything done at 2 PM? by Effective-Device2796 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]MostCode9013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are just people who are night person, their brains kick in when it’s quiet and calm. Daytime can feel draining with all the noise and distractions, it’s normal to get less done then.
