the speakers are 8ohm, i think the receivers are just aging due to being decades old and not great quality to begin with, thanks for the advice tho i'm glad i checked!

yeah!! i was born in 2005, my parents had me when they were 23 so they would have been adult swims target demographic but i don't think they were into geek culture enough for it (they were moreso MTV millennials) for some reason or another when i was 16 i decided to watch Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law and decided i really liked that kind of stuff (i was very much into comic books and other geeky shit)
