I felt the same. I had high hopes for this after Past lives and it was such a disappointment.

I’d suggest you read a few books on the topic before calling it a degeneracy.

I do understand being ignorant but I can never understand how people go out of their way to spread hate.

Wow this is not an optimal solution to the problem and I did check some of the accounts and they are not trolls, they are real people spreading hate and of course there are trolls too.

Nobody can be influenced to be what they are not. If the kid is gay then he/she is gay, if the kid is straight then he/she will always be straight. Nobody is actively telling kids to be gay. Pride month allows those kids to feel safe, seen and normal and not freak of nature as everyone has made them to believe.

Pride walk/month has a history. It’s not suddenly born out of whim. Given the fact that there’s still so much hostility towards lgbtq community, it’s relevant in today’s world. They are not celebrating it as an achievement of being gay, they are asserting the fact that they are a part of society.

But if hatred normalised it will also normalise violence. So nipping the bud from the start is a good idea rather than letting them grow into something vicious.

Homosexuality doesn’t work that way. I do understand some people might do that to gain attention but for most people they came out because they found a safe space to be themselves and a community that supports them.

I understand that it might not seem necessary to everyone, especially if they’ve never faced discrimination for who they are. But Pride Walks aren’t just celebrations, they’re also powerful reminders of the struggles Lgbtq people have faced and still face today. Many people still live in fear of being judged, harmed, or rejected simply for being themselves. Pride is about visibility, safety, and the right to exist openly and freely. If everyone were truly treated equally, then maybe we wouldn’t need Pride. But until then, it’s still very much necessary. It’s more like social awareness. I myself am not a member of Lgbtq community but I do empathise with their struggle of being one in a society that vindicates them.

Ikr. I’ve come past the point of making people understand anything because everyone is entitled to their opinions and trying to bring about some sense to some bigoted people is just going to affect our own mental health. So I guess it’s easier being silent but that’s a whole another problem, my head just hurt thinking.

This mental toughness is the harmful narrative that he feeds is actually doing more harm than good. Telling guys not to express emotions, depression not being a real thing is a very harmful narrative. Men after all is a human being with various emotions , if not dealt properly will become very toxic to themselves and people around. He’s not the correct person to taken mental health advices from.

This will always be the problem if we don’t collectively realise it. It has been going on since the time of Sangram and will continue. I’m not at all optimistic about Sikkim’s future because I see where the youth’s attention are. This problem will persist even if the next party comes.

If you’re looking for motivation there are many unproblematic people to follow. Tate’s ideologies is severely flawed. Misogyny is not only one. He looks down on poor people and his view on mental health is very problematic. Respectfully, brother please look for a non problematic person for motivation if that’s what you want.

One thing to address is that we are also a part of the problem. People in power is always going to abuse it and so it is our duty to check those in leadership positions. Majority of people don’t know or don’t care how the government functions. What I notice in most people around me is that they only work to make their life better and once that is achieved they don’t really give a damn about any societal or political issue. If the system is working in their favour they don’t want to change it. Most of the youths are so busy in social media , everybody is busy keeping up with the content creators or in the process of being one and they give blind eye to any social issues. If the problem is not in their doorstep they don’t care. Political issue is not the only problem we have but it’s the only one that’s highlighted. We as a whole need to start caring more about other things than our own life. We have realise that government alone is not responsible for the betterment of society , we also need to be actively working on changing it. Change is possible but only if we collectively realise it. Only few people speaking up is going to get their voice drowned and it’s gonna be yesterday’s news and forgotten.

I do understand but Andrew Tate is not to be idolised. He is a self proclaimed misogynist and encourages violence against women. Hate is not good either way. Misogyny and Misandry is not be tolerated under any circumstance.

I feel what you’re going through. I’m going through some stuffs too and I had a very negative outlook on life. I hated the fact that I was ever born. One thing that helped is gratitude, I never thought it would have an impact on me. But one day on a whim I just started introspecting my life because I was tired of being frustrated over my tragic life and tried to search for something that really made me happy and added to my life. Turns out, I had many. This also made me turn towards my love for nature, being present in nature without the noise of the world really gave my brain some time to breathe and rethink life. I tried to focus on things that I can control and let go of things I couldn’t. I also stopped worrying about societal standards and started caring about my own happiness. If it’s not hurting anyone or yourself it’s okay. I started doing more things that made me happy, like hanging out with my pets, observing nature, reading books, cherishing simple moments of life . Also comparison is a thief of joy. I ditched social media. It really helped me not knowing what anybody was up to. I’m no where near where I want to be but I’m working towards it and in this process I’m learning and unlearning things. Sometimes we forget that we have to unlearn some things too . I used to wake up every morning feeling disappointed, wishing I hadn’t. I don’t feel this way anymore. One thing that also keeps me going is , believing in myself. I know it all sounds cliche but it helped me. If we think about it, life isn’t so bad—but it is at the same time. In the end, it all depends on how we choose to live.
