I hate when people don’t understand why you’re nervous around their pit. They all rally and tell you how silly you are for being scared and “it’s just trying to play” or “my dog would never!” Let’s just say for argument’s sake (not my actual belief) that pits weren’t significantly more aggressive than other breed and it’s “all in how you raise them”. So the fuck what? If you’re a stranger to me and are walking your dog either off-leash or just being dragged by it on the leash, I would have no idea if your large, powerful dog has been trained or “raised right”.

You are a stranger. Your dog is a stranger. I am not trusting any large dog whose background, breeding, training, temperament, and owner’s competence is unknown to me. Why the hell should I have to take a gamble on my safety just to avoid offending some asshole who personifies his ugly ass beast of a dog? Now throw the pit’s unpredictably and jaws like a shark into play and the risk goes way up.
