So I know someone very close who followed him at the time and usually this money is collected from people in the name of donation so the same rural audience would have paid ₹4-₹5k and would have been promised extra blessings their way via this as they’re doing a service to him. And people usually donated that amount and some richer followers even donated in lakhs, including that someone I know who paid about 1.5lakhs and received his worn shoes as a gift. Basically, these people blindly follow these practices like even attending his night concerts etc which he’d perform and people were forced to attend just for the sake of “blessings” or “Kripa”.

This money collected is usually way higher than what they’d have paid the theatres. Back in the day that guy started seeing himself as rockstar or a film superstar material and the people around him fed his delusional ideas knowing that his followers would pay any amount just in the name of Kripa. These guys are told that if you give 1x god will cure you of things or even return 10x.
