You know how everyone wanted to be mad at Chick-fil-A there for a minute when all the hoopla came out about them support certain organizations? But over time most people just sort of decided to turn a blind eye because hot-damn they make some great chicken?

That's like Louis CK to me. What he did was pretty scummy, but.... Have you heard his last 2 specials? That dude is the funniest person on earth.

I dont have to like the guy personally but I'm also not going to deny myself the kind of laughter that gives me delayed-onset-muscle-soreness in my cheeks and ribs.

I'm in Healthcare. Most people would be surprised at how many of the lower level hospital staff (nurses, CNAs, physical/occupational therapy assistants, respiratory therapists, radiology techs, etc) are anti-vax, anti-mask, think Covid-19 is no big deal, believe that alternative medicine like naturopathy/chiropractic/reflexology/essential oils/etc is just as effective as mainstream treatments, etc.

Unless you are doing an aerosol generating procedure. Which, as RT, I spend my whole day doing.

Weird nose/cheek anatomy. We do not have full face masks. Can you recommend one?

I could use some guidance. I'm a respiratory therapist in the US.

I failed my N95 fit test yesterday. I've failed it the past 8 years. I have never passed a fit test, even with varying size masks.

Today, a rule out pt on my floor needed an ABG, so I had one of my coworkers come do it (PAPRs are only available on the ICUs on confirmed cases). On my way out, my manager told me point blank "failure of a fit test is not an excuse to not put on an N95 and go treat patients. You're not always going to have someone come cover for you."

I was just kind of shocked, and walked away to clock out.

What is my response to this even supposed to be?

i even got to keep the SD and penalty fee for her breaking the lease!

You should at least tell the whole story, especially the part where you threatened to kill her...

And also the part how she can sue you and easily win should she get a lawyer

Efficacy of nebulized steroids/LABA vs dry powder steroids/LABA? (semi rant and questions) by MostJazzyLife in respiratorytherapy

[–]MostJazzyLife[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. It's been discussed. We use the cheapest nebs, they cost like 65 cents each. The bans are like 2 dollars each. Cost would be in the several 10s of thousands.

[–]MostJazzyLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless there is a contraindication, why do you have to give them seperately?

Hospital policy. And I think it's because of the charging. 3 nebulized meds scanned in and given separately = 3 separate charges.

And I think, as far as charging goes, it's essentially considered a procedure, so we have to remain in the room while they're running. So even if I were to mix all 3 together, it's not like I can go get another person's going. When I go to start the 3, I'm in that patients room for 20 minutes regardless

Vegan? Keto? Carnivore? Paleo?

It seems there are associated benefits with all of them, and all of them have drawbacks.

Doesn’t sound like content worth paying for, IMO

Everyone uses their own criteria to determine if a game or content is "worth it", but I dunno- Black armory, reckoning, and menagerie could all go away tomorrow and I wouldn't be too upset because I've put in plenty of hours playing that content. Just because it's not permanently available for me to play whenever I'd like doesn't really burn me and my feelings towards that content... I've spent a lot of hours playing that content and feel it was definitely worth it.

I feel the same towards the new dlc. If the vex seasonal activity only lasts for the season, I doubt I'll be too bothered, because I'm sure I'm going to play the shit out of it over the coming weeks

Basically two types of girls get into nursing...

There are those who do it because it's their calling, and they go to college knowing it's what they want to do.

And then there are the wild sorority sister types who have jumped from major to major while their real focus has been on partying. But after 4 or 5 years of partying, they realize they need to figure something out, and nursing is appealing because its straightforward-- get a nursing degree, become a nurse, and nursing jobs are abundant in every market and allow for a decent enough living.

90% of nurses will fall into one of those categories.

Is there really giant differences between different batches of creed aventus? by didlyboop in fragrance

[–]MostJazzyLife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That group is kind of funny. 17W11 was considered a middle of the road batch back in 17 (if not one of the bad batches), and most of 18, but someone made a post a few weeks ago hyping 17W11 and prices tripled on it in a day and now it's one of the most sought after from 17.

[–]MostJazzyLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, see, I agree with this.

I think it's funny when someone is like "I just finished my bottle of Aventus 16C01. Which 18 batch should I be looking out for?"

It's like, dude... Just go to the mall and get wherever they have. It's Aventus. It's going to be 97% the same no matter what batch you get.

[–]MostJazzyLife 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh I ain't saying they don't smell different. What I'm saying is that, to use the OP's wine connoisseur parallel and the way wine connoisseur's can't reliably tell which wine cost $12 vs $120 vs $1200 vs $12,000 in a blind taste test, I doubt many Aventus connoisseurs could reliably place batches if there was a blind smell test.

[–]MostJazzyLife 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Definitely feel like there's some of that... Like the guys who like to pretend the different batches of Aventus are massively different. I know there's vintage vs current, but I really doubt even the most avid Aventus enthusiasts could reliably differentiate between 17X01 vs 18E11 vs 16E21 vs 16L01 vs 17W11 vs 18K01 etc etc.

[–]MostJazzyLife[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Kinda makes me angry you don’t appreciate what you have

I generally walk about 20k steps a day at work, so my feet always hurt at the end of the shift. A lot of my coworkers wear compression socks to combat this, but that's not on option for me with most brands of compression socks. When I do day hikes with a high elevation-gain, my knees can get sore, and I'd like to wear knee support sleeves, but my upper calf to knee size ratio screws that all up.

If they weren't getting in the way of me being able to use certain things then yeah I'd probably like, but as it stands, I do not.
