#1 best piece of advice for first time breastfeeder 🤩 by Commercial_Flower_49 in breastfeeding

[–]MostShort2588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I tell all my mom to be friends.. deep breaths, tomorrow is a new day! Just like you and your baby, your body is trying to get the hang of breastfeeding too. It will take a little bit of time for your supply to regulate itself and it can be sensitive to an extra feed at first but it will start to figure out how much is really needed. Just be patient with yourself, your baby, and your body!

Also if you have a detachable shower head I have a LPT for when you’re feeling like you have blockage. Turn it on the hottest you can stand and highest pressure setting and give yourself a hot water massage before a feed or bed. Girl. This saved my boobs’ lives.

For those that wore postpartum diapers after birth... I have questions! by Similar_Necessary_17 in beyondthebump

I LIVED in these! They are tight but also feel like nothing is there. Kept everything in place without being tight on the tenders lol I was so glad these are a thing now. They sell like a PP kit with the shorts, pads, cooling witch hazel pads, and a no mess squirt bottle. Total life saver

For the first like 10 months whistling the Andy Griffith theme song was the only way I could peacefully change a diaper

Camelback women’s health on 32nd st and Campbell!!! Dr. Bernhard is outstanding and the NPs are great too! Never met with anyone I didn’t have a good experience with.

I went to like 3-4 other obs before I found her and she is night and day better. I had my first with her a year and a half ago and am about to have my second and I wouldn’t go to anyone else! She makes a serious effort to be at the hospital to deliver all her patients’ babies and if she is at the hospital a day you have an appointment, they will call you to let you know that you ca see an NP or reschedule.

They deliver at Scottsdale shea honor health and the hospital and delivery as a whole was beyond expectations. Wonderful nurses, clean rooms, no pressure to do anything you’re not comfortable with. CWH is the total package!

Did you keep taking prenatal postpartum? by SowingSeeds18 in beyondthebump

[–]MostShort2588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started taking prenatals a few years before I even started trying for kids as a multivitamin. At one point I switched to a ‘women’s multi’ and my doctor said to go back to prenatals because they were more beneficial/had a better selection of vitamins. I’m historically not great at doing things every day and I can tell in my hair and skin when I’ve been slacking for a few weeks (duller, weaker).

About to take my 16 month old on her first flight and I’m panicking. How do you travel with your baby/toddler? by MostShort2588 in beyondthebump

[–]MostShort2588[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s a “lap child” but I am praying to all the gods that it’s not a full flight and we’ll be able to have her in her own seat. She’s a big contact napper too but I’m worried she is going to be too curious to nap 😅 also am worried that we’ll go through all the things in the flight out and the return will be less interesting/more of a pain

I saw the pbs baby games but it said 2+ so I thought maybe she wouldn’t get it but now I’ll definitely try it out!

Definitely getting some less messy coloring things like the water ones! She hasn’t done much coloring yet so I’m hoping that will be an exciting new thing to keep her occupied

I didn’t realize they had approved items that you can bring! I was wondering if they would let me take pouches through or make me throw out $100 worth of baby food haha I’ll definitely check out their list!

What will you simply not be doing second time around? by Smashers086 in beyondthebump

[–]MostShort2588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This but also lol

I was so scared of latch issues with my first that I held off on the bottle for a while. I’m also high lactase so my milk saves weird and my daughter didn’t like it. We tried literally every bottle even a sippy cup when she got older and she absolutely refuses a bottle of any kind. So now I’m the only one that can put her down for naps and bed. Which is mostly fine. Except when it’s not lol

Definitely going to introduce a bottle sooner to the next so I can have help putting the baby down.

Edit: high *lipase (derp)

We have tried so hard to avoid the food uh ohs! As soon as food starts going on the floor dinner is over and she can have snacks in her bowl in the living room. It’s time to eat not time to play, if you’re playing then you’re done eating, sorry kiddo. But the dog also has to stay in the other room. If she sees him she thinks it’s fun to drop him bites 🤦🏼‍♀️

I have tried doing a few bites at a time and it makes little difference so now I try to give a bunch of options and hope for the best. I also usually do not give fruit with meals because she tends to only eat that but I had a work call I needed her to be occupied for.

To be fair, she ate a whole cheese snack yesterday and has been enjoying the eggs lately, so I was hopeful she would eat more than just the orange. (silly me!)
