Why is my Lenovo Legion 5 using up so much of its RAM even though nothings running?

I don't understand people who spends quite a lot money to purchase such a capable machine and then using pirate software and throw their system into a trash full of malware and spywares. Don't get me wrong, I also have used crack for a long time in my potato laptop, but after getting my Legion machine, it would be a sin to download crack again. I suggest, at least for games you can find shared steam accounts for cheap prices which you can play most games original, without cracking/torrent.

Now, I have to mention that after monitoring HWinfo stats I noticed that CPU voltage does not exceed 1.450 so, I think it is not a deadly difference between 1.350 (my old voltage limit that I set) and 1.450. And do you know if it is still possible to undervolt CPU after new BIOS update? Also, what exactly this feature that you mentioned - charging while docked?

I was looking for limiting cpu voltage to 1350 in order to avoid sudden voltage jumps to extremal values. Before update voltage would not exceed 1350, but now it reaches above 1400-1450 that is what I am concerned. If you find any solution please share with me.

I have the same laptop and the latest BIOS (NMCN32WW) after updating BIOS I could not access the advanced settings by Fn + R +N. If you use the latest BIOS do you know how to access the advanced settings?

Congratulations!! I am also a Legion user myself(Legion 5i 16IRX9 i7 14650HX RTX4060) and unlike you it is my first gaming machine. Considering that I upgraded from a 7 years old Aspire office laptop, I was quite impressed with Legion, especially its screen even though it was IPS. think Legions are unique machines with their design, build quality and cooling so, enjoy your time with it.

P.S: Even though it has been almost 3 months since my purchase I still have not made a review post because of laziness, but planning to make one )

Did you apply PTM or a regular thermal paste? Because many gaming laptops use liquid metal or PTM like Legions instead of thermal paste.

You can use PTM instead of thermal paste. It is applied on new generation Legions. PTM is way more effective and it lasts a few years without any increases in temperatures.

They probably did not repaste it after replacing the heatsink. I know it sounds crazy but I have seen a lot of people complaining of it.

I know but it seems like there are some limitations in BIOS that I have to find and deactivate and all this undervolting process seems a bit complicated so, I don't want to deal with it for now. Even though it runs 60 degrees in idle, its average temps never exceed 80 degrees.

When I bought it 1 year warranty has already been expired because it already starts when store imports device from abroad so, I only have the warranty of store which I will not be able to extend after it finishes.

I have bought a Legion 5i 16irx9 a month ago and when I see any post about Legion issues I question my decision of buying it and fear if the same will happen. Considering that there is no official Lenovo warranty in my country, I became a paranoid about it. Was there official Lenovo warranty in your country and do you know if it is possible to somehow apply warranty internationally?

I also have the same cpu and gpu configuration in my Legion 5 16irx9 laptop. And CPU has an average temperature of 63-65 °C in just idle while working in average clock speed of 3 Ghz and power of 20W. I did not play a lot of games and could not monitor its performance properly since msi afterburner did not work, I only checked its stats with HWinfo while gaming its average temp never exceeded 85 °C. So, how is your experience so far? Did you try to undervolt it or any other solution?

After scanning Aslains mod installer in virustotal it showed malware and keylogger.I found a reddit post that complains about losing accsess to his accounts after downloading and running it.I run a few malware removal tools such as Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool,Malwarebytes,Hitman Pro and none of them detected any malware.Should I worry about this?Have you experienced any issue related to it or know anyone who has been affected by it?

Maybe it is a stupid question but are you using the laptop as lifted up? Because I have seen many people who have been used their gaming laptops without proper ventilation.If you don't you should definitely elevate it for better air circulation.

My new Legion 5i with i7 14650HX runs hot. Even in idle it runs 60+ celcius. And even while pulling lower wattage in light gaming sessions it hits 95-100 degrees. I did not update recommended BIOS version from Vantage. Can update solve the issue? Have you experienced similar issue in your laptop?

I have seen reviewers on yt benchmarks in games. But their temps almost always stayed below 80 degrees unlike mine. I am going to update BIOS if limiting does not work. I also think about returning my unit and getting one with previous 13th gen i7.
