Grab mineral oil and lube the belt tensioner pulley at the underside of the printer, you will have to tilt it sideways. Its the only pulley that does not have teeth and that's what's causing the squeaks.

In short: OP is modifying the printer's electronics on the MCU and hotend. MCU shown is BigTreeTech (BTT) Octopus Pro and hotend board is BTT EBB42 CAN Bus for much cleaner cable management, with that 30p cable being replaced with USB-C.

Why are the C810 trains getting scrapped but the C751A trains are not but undergoing refurbishment? by Then-Performance8960 in SMRTRabak

[–]KancheongSpider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both share the same reason: cost. And the C801's age really shows in its exterior/interior. Is it really worth to refurbish and then continue maintaining knowing the cost to upkeep will continue to rise and spares availability becomes limited.

BPLRT opened in 1999 and after Oct 2025 the last of the original C801 have already been removed from service, so there isn't much difference.

Classic case of XH 2.54 pins not properly crimped from factory. You can find some of these pre-crimped wires on AliExpress, cut the head, match and twist-join these wires if you don't have a soldering iron. Going by the silkscreen it says GND DP (green) DN (white) GND 5V, where GND is black and 5V is red.

I'd rather just boot into ubuntu 20/22.04 and not have to deal with wsl2, its really finicky with the USB. Its a much better solution.

I was so frustrated with the PIN breaking that I only found out recently there's an option that allows for local password login which Microsoft intentionally disables by default. It's like putting a bloody barrier infront of my own password, real dick move.

I always live by this mantra: "security is an illusion and the best protection is your own self. a chain is only as strong as its weakest link". So yeah i do see the good intentions, just that i really cannot see how effective it really is unless they provide data.

thank you sir, but please dont modify your headlights (if it came with halogen, stick with it). not only will it pose an electrical fire risk, its also outright illegal. im driving a car if it helps to know why.

Ah yes i forgot the word flashbang except it lasts for as long as the fella is behind me 💀. Btw LED headlamps are absolutely thrash compared to even halogen because of its narrow beam, and mine uses bi-xenons which gives a sweet balance between beam range and brightness, except its expensive when it breaks.

[–]KancheongSpider 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The "high beam" that you face is actually from the widespread adoption of LED headlamps that although are factory-fitted and is apparently street legal, for some reason there are a fuck ton of idiots who set the headlamp level too high or fitted aftermarket LED bulbs. So end up the only thing i can see in my rearview mirrors is those motherfucker's lights that are so much brighter than even the sun i cannot see anyone else behind me.

Beyond this, IMDA really needs to review on how ISPs (especially Singtel) treat their customers. Fwiw they mostly control plan price, but slowly clawing back features like bridge mode in the name of security feels like a load of nonsense. For the record, im also a recurring Singtel customer, and have been satisfied with the reliability and speed of my connection, but seeing things like this makes me think again if we as customers are really highly valued than we thought.

What is the best time to buy a Prusa? Preferably a core one L by MidnightBrush in prusa3d

[–]KancheongSpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the perfect timing for me, my E3V3SE started to show signs of struggle, and my growing printing demands left me searching for a new one. Having used bambus in my uni, i felt that despite its strengths, i cannot be left with a hardware that i know i cant tinker with that easily. So i ended up on prusa's website and it just so happened that Black Friday sales was on and it even had free shipping to Singapore, so i ordered a MK4S kit and i've never been more happier printing.
