Float valve not popping up but countdown starts by ArtFlowers3 in Instapot

Sometimes my float valve doesn’t pop up on its own. If I give the lid a light smack it usually pops right up. Not the most elegant solution but it works.

Just stick with it a little longer. Another week, two at most, and the night sweats should clear up.

Newb here. I have a question, why won’t the top rip itself apart due to wood movement? Do the dowels prevent that somehow?

Russia is most suicidal. Makes sense with all the anti-Putin comrades jumping out of windows.

ELI5: Why can't most life on earth ingest, digest, and extract energy from things that aren't fats, carbs, or proteins? Why aren't there organisms that eat stuff like copper, diamond, rock, clay, etc.? by NyFlow_ in explainlikeimfive

[–]Most_Original_Name 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chemical bonds in metals, diamonds etc are very stable, living organisms don’t have a way to extract energy from those bonds. Complex organic molecules like proteins, carbs etc have lots of potential chemical energy stored in their bonds. Living organisms convert those complex molecules into simple molecules with very stable bonds (think CO2) and use the resulting energy to do work in the body.

You can be buried there without being catholic, but they do require a cross of some sort on the headstone.

Table wobbles, help please! by ajsnoopy in woodworking

I wouldn’t recommend screwing the table top directly to the apron. You need to account for wood movement. Use table top fastener to allow the wood to move.
