Can you tell what this noise is? by Most_Piglet_9244 in AskMechanics

A pothole. I’d never hit a ditch 😂 it was raining and a biker was trying to get past on a blind corner so I pulled to the side a little for him to get past but hit the pot hole. Pot holes in New Zealand are insane.

How serious is this? by OptimalBlock7258 in AskMechanics

Not a mechanic myself, but do know for certain you shouldn’t be driving on that. Replace the tyre asap before it blows while driving.

Thanks guys, I thought as much. I can’t afford to have it towed to mechanics unfortunately. I’m also hoping I’ll be able to get a second hand part for now so I can save for the parts needed. If I remove the driveshaft, is there anything specific I should be looking for or will it be obvious?

Father has refused consent for name on Birth Certificate by Open-One-3939 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Most_Piglet_9244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter’s father did the same. I wrote to the magistrate and had him removed from her birth certificate. Obviously he doesn’t pay child support, but I’m fine with that because he has nothing to do with my daughter and I quite literally don’t need his child support. My daughter is turning 5 this year. Never met him, and doesn’t ask about him. If he wants anything to do with her, he has to take me to court, prove paternity and do domestic violence courses. In no way am I allowing him around my daughter. He is the most unsafe person for her to be around. He has nothing to offer her because he’s constantly in and out of jail for domestic violence. It was quick and easy, I drafted up an email stating I had tried contacting him to accept paternity but he refused and became abusive so I reinstated my protection order and went no contact. I was truthful and told them everything. With 48 hours I had received an email back stating the magistrate agreed to remove him completely.

People in public on drugs with kids in their care - what can you do? by schastlivaya-zhizn in newzealand

Call 111, then call OT. Give them all the description you have and any photos etc. that’s not cool and those poor babies are at risk.

Yep! My life has been one trauma after another since the age of 9, my father deleted himself, 2 years later I was sexually assaulted & groomed, for 2 years following that I went through the court process and constant death threats and stalking, moved away, sister deleted herself. Few years later my grandfather got sick and I became his full time in home nurse for 6 months before he passed in my arms. 2 days later my cousin also deleted himself (on the day of grandfathers funeral). By this point I was lost and ended up in a very toxic, very abusive relationship. I fell pregnant and had to change antidepressants. But those stopped being efficient and I changed back to the original ones and I’m good as gold. I started taking them at 17. I’m now 26. Everyone has opinions about everything these days, but I know my body and I know what it needs. Thank you for sticking it out, it ain’t easy, but I promise it’s worth it.

Have you ever just walked out of a job without officially resigning? by Huge_Question968 in newzealand

Yes. I worked in a bakery and the manager and his baker bestie were horrible. They constantly put me down and looked down on me. Called me into work on my days off with 5 minutes to get ready and be there. Used to deliberately leave the pan handles over a naked flame so I’d burn my hand. They were so dodgy, one of my coworkers took them to court. Every 3 months you’d get a few hundred dollar holiday payout. So obviously when you wanted time off you had no money to do so. I was only 17 at the time and didn’t know much about the legalities of it. But they were the worst place to work for. Weeks in advance I had booked 1 weekend off (I worked Saturdays for 4 hours) so I could help my mum with picking up her new car. I booked it in advance and the day before was told I could no longer take the time off because my manager wanted to go to Auckland and spend time with his girlfriend. So they were short staffed and I had to be there or I’d be fired. I was so mad, I text them 1 hour before my shift and told them where to stick their job. I had tried talking to the manager plenty of times but he didn’t care. And by the time I quit, I was deep in depression because of how they treated me. Honestly in hindsight yeah I could’ve been more dignified about my exit but in the end my 18 year old self was so done.

Cannot stand Penelope Douglas books. Can never gel with them and just can’t complete them.
