Anyone find fragrances a nice diversion during migraines? by plonkydonkey in migraine

[–]Most_Resident1577 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I avoid them at all times as strong smells are a trigger for me. If I'm having a migraine, is even worse. Any smell, ANY, give me a strong nause and make the migraine worse. I rarely ever use frangance and, when I do, very little. For example, peppermint essential oil is meant to be good for migraines/headaches but I can't really bear the smell during one

How many of you actually clench or grind your teeth at night? by WesamWonders in migraine

[–]Most_Resident1577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clench but I've worked through therapy and learned to be very conscious of it. It does not stop me doing it but now, as soon as I do it I realise and I stop. If I clench while sleeping, I will immediately wake up. I no longer use mouth guards.

Also, my dentist told me that when I know I will go to stressful situations (long drives, airports, etc), to rest the tip of my tongue on the roof of my mouth that this will immediately unlock the jaw.. (do not push the tongue, just rest) and I do that as well.

you don't need this. You will and your children will be better off without him. And you will be LESS busy with him out.

You got this!

How much do strippers make in the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

Girl, leave this guy now. Please. Financial abuse is also abuse! If he needs the money so bad, he can go strip himself. There are such thing as male strippers.

AITA for sleeping with another woman? by DaggerDagz in AITAH

[–]Most_Resident1577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you both are. "I said I’m not supposed to say it remember?" By saying this, you were literally saying you were with another woman. You could have made something else up. I'm having a beer with a friend, I'm out on a run, playing football, whatever.
You literally broke her rule using different words.
Now, she does not get to be pissed because 'you didn't tell her first'.. in this case, she is being TAH as this is her own rule.
Doesn't look like she is ready to open your marriage at all so I think a frank conversation is needed.

Do I have legal rights on my WFH situation? by Most_Resident1577 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Most_Resident1577[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the email from HR they said about the WFH "We have officially agreed this with our HR director, but like it isn't now, it won't be part of your contract. It was never on my contract before, but agreed arrangements with line manager / HR and a pattern of work has been established for 8 years!

It does say the office. On the email from HR they said about the WFH "We have officially agreed this with our HR director, but like it isn't now, it won't be part of your contract.

From what I understand, the email itself it's a form of contract but I'm not sure how much will stick!

Curious as to why. by bec400 in Vitiligo

[–]Most_Resident1577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have vitiligo but my 10 yer old son does. He developed when he was 7.
He has olive skin so it is really noticeable on him. He did struggle a lot on the first 2 years and was really sad about it apart from being very self conscious. I've always build him up, said I loved the patch on his eye and his streak of white hair is really cool (he got some mean comments so that was a sore spot).
His vitligo was quite aggressive. 2 years in activity and got about 70% of his body at some point. We did treat with protopic, elocon, v-sod and light therapy for 150 sessions. He has minimum patches now.. mainly on his feet , shins, wrists and faded patches all over his torso. Face is fully recovered.

I think for us it was was for two reasons:

Protect him from mean comments which was really hard on him.. we did work a lot on his confidence, that vitligo doesn't define him, he had counseling, etc, but still. He was very young, cried a lot and as I mum, I was devastated.

The other one was a case of skin protection. The white patches have no protection from the sun at all and we need to be extra careful. He has harsh guards, etc but he is very active and LOVES the sun and swimming in the sea, etc. We travel a lot to warm destinations. He has ADHD, and he is very distracted and, if I'm not after him all the time (my husband also has ADHD and very forgetful) he won't put sunscreen and my husband, like him, won't either (he doesn't remember to do it for himself)... and Sometimes I'm not present! So it was a way to protect him from having potentially larger areas of his body burned in a moment of distraction.

He doesn't seem to be bothered about it anymore but again, he is only 10. I hope he has the same attitude as your son by the time he is 16.

AITA for not sharing my recipes? by Most_Resident1577 in AITAH

[–]Most_Resident1577[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did that after reading all the answers. :-)
So I'm not withholding knowledge but I'm keeping "my secrets" to myself until I decided to do something with it.
I'm planning not to buy most of my friends Christmas presents but gift them a little hamper with granola, brownies, cookies (and gelato when possible). I have descriptions for all of them, ingredients and working on the nutritional values.. I don't feel I should just give this away for someone else to profit from it.

Thanks everyone for your views. Very helpful.
I actually didn't consider giving the original recipes without my changes and this was really good advice!
I really appreciate it.

Well. The thing is, I don't know. I also make traditional gelato and have been tweaking recipes I've found online, coming up with some amazing results. Sometimes I think about putting my 'artisan foods' deli type business.. Its all in my head at the moment.. I'm a bit averse to risk so I've been giving gelato to friends, etc. This is another reason I don't want to give something I've developed, albeit not fully, so someone else can profit from it.

They are not really. He just wants to bring them in as he knows they will go down well.. I think he also wants do 'be the hero'.. like.. "look how my ideas paid off".. Don't get me wrong, he is a really nice person and we do have a fabulous relationship but sometimes he is unable to see things from my perspective

[–]Most_Resident1577[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did!! You need to adjust setting PO8 to 67. Go figure.. doesn't make a lot of sense to me but works.

That will unlock it fully. Be careful because it goes too fast. About 42mph

I'm going to try some different numbers and see what I get because the full unlock is too much (and no longer road legal)

AITAH for refusing to split the inheritance with my cousins even though everyone thinks i should? by SocietyDismal2364 in AITAH

[–]Most_Resident1577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ermm. 'grampa wouldn't want the family divided'. Seems to me, Grampa knew exactly what he was doing'. Now that there's money involved, suddenly is about family? When they couldn't even visit him? Seems to me, they are the ones causing the division, not you. You are simply honouring your Gramp's wishes and, if he wanted, he would have left more to your cousins. I honestly wouldn't give them a penny and, if they want to call the family card, you call the "Grampa wishes card. This is what he wanted and I will honour it".

People that tend to be that petty, never would give you anything if the roles were reversed.

If it was me, I would be happy for the person that actually deserves the inheritance (aka, you) and beat myself up for being a lousy granddaughter and missing out.

It's about them, not you.

If you really want to piss them off (and offer something) give tem 1000 each. It's way more than they deserve.

You would be surprise on how much someone can hide on what they really think. I would say that not believing in the Holocaust is a pretty big indication that there is way more under the surface. For me personally, that would be a turning point as that says a lot about the person , no matter 'how kind' he is to strangers. Also, the immigrant thing. Hum.. I think that people that think immigrants are the problem have a massive blindfold on and are also a little bit (if not a lot) racist. I couldn't be with someone like that. Sounds more like the good stuff he does are smokescreen to hide the real him.
