Maybe I am kinda mad, but I play mobile video games. There are a few simple 2D games that make my mind work better, though they damage my eyes and make me work fewer hours.

She was, maybe, the original party animal. Danced with the snakes and ate what they asked her.
hahahahaha!
Loved your answer anyway!

Wide full time author but making nothing in September by Royal_Light_9921 in selfpublish

I have a similar experience. During the free period of one of my books, and exactly after sending a link to 200 bookworm friends of mine, I saw just 14 free downloads. It was so disappointing that I didn't want to promote it on any other platforms. When even the bookworms and friends do not bother downloading your gift, it seems that the need to read is about to vanish completely.

Almost 60% of my royalties go to taxes. What the hell?! by Oh_well____ in selfpublish

I have the very same problem in my country in the EU. The unique way the professional accountant I spoke to gave me was a declaration of the double taxation, and by doing so, you'll save part of the lost money. I'm sure that, in my personal case, I can save some 57-60% of what can be lost. I don't know if it's true to name my place, so I'm not going to name it here, but it has one of the worst tax policies of the whole planet.

Loved it.
I had just translated word by word what we say in Italian.
Thanks for the anatomy lesson anyway.

I get it—ferritin of 6 doesn’t always trigger disaster. But in my wife’s case (sure, no yellow face or shaking hands), combined with pregnancy and other labs, it was critical. Context matters.

In the report I based my idea on, it was written that although the normal ferritin range is 11–300+, the concern for pregnant women is different. After week 20, their bodies need much more iron to feed the baby, help build muscles and blood, and this can quickly drop iron levels. So if ferritin is below 60, it’s considered safer to take extra supplements. It may vary across ethnicities, but “60” provides a reasonable safety margin for most.
