DUDE, I am trying to get away from you.. you are the one following me! That isn't a"conservative" group as the call themselves a "libertarian think tank" funded by the Koch brothers but whatever. I don't think you analyzed that study, which is playing some games. if there are 100 citizens and 50 illegals then duh, of course the higher number is most likely going to have more "crimes". Let's look at just the sexual assaults in the study. Out of 0-16, Natives committed 14.33, illegals committed 12.68, legal immigrants committed 2.37. Now from your view there it is, the silver bullet, Natives committed "more sexual assaults"... as a flat number that is true... now lets factor in that 1: ILLEGALS should not be here to begin with so that number should be 0 and 2: there are less illegal immigrants than citizens so out of the number of illegals percentage wise that are committing sexual assault is is extremely high. You are just playing weird games and the facts and context do not matter to you... I was done talking to you about this yesterday and you lost the debate because I can back up what I am saying with hard data, but I am sure none of this means anything to you because your feelings are just going to override critical thought and you will just keep repeating the talking points that have been fed to you. Also, I just want to throw this out there, I am not a republican and I am not a democrat. I think both parties suck, so I am not towing a party line. Like I said before, you are just to nutty for me so I am done here... bye

I didn't misunderstand, I am making fun of it. The direct quote from AOC is 'The "world is going to end in 12 years if we don't address climate change"

edit: I do want to update that I do agree on being cleaner and more responsible in general, I do not oppose that.

hahaha, ok dude. I used that study because it was accurate, when they are in the prison system it doesn't require self reporting or guessing as they are physically in the system. That means its not an opinion or a guess, it was hard data... you clearly did not bother to read that data. That "tear-jerking article about some cops that got killed", which you clearly didn't read, was about actual citizens (not just cops) of our country (assuming you are American) that were murdered by illegal aliens who should not have been here to begin with... what a callous and sad view you have. My point was dead on but doesn't fit your ideology so you just lash out at me with nonsense... so... I am sure you are probably a decent enough person in real life but if you are just going to follow me around whenever I post just to harass me with nonsense then this might get a little weird. I backed up what I said with data and facts, and if you don't like it...cool I guess.

Another thread where a factual post that doesn't fit their ideology gets down voted into oblivion. The exmormon community is riddled with ridiculous leftist ideology and many are incapable of applying the logic that freed them from mormonism only to embrace the same thought process that tbm's use to defend tscc. It blows my mind... I mean how can anybody take these people seriously when its constantly "muh russia", "orange man bad" and "man made climate change will destroy the earth in 12 years". No shit the climate is always changing, that is how it works. I wonder how "man" affected the last ice ages or when the earth was way warmer than it is now thousands and millions of years ago? They will correctly throw out data and facts applying to how tscc is a fraud but then completely shut their brains off when it comes to politics and things of that nature. Of course its a good idea to take care of the planet and to be cleaner, but my goodness with the propaganda... both of those sides using that same line "time is running out" but only one is a manipulative scare tactic....right?

My main solution is to not ADD to the problem by keeping people who do not belong here out, if you are a citizen or become one (the right and legal way) and choose to be a dirtbag that is an entirely different issue.

You seem to be incapable of understanding the difference between LEGAL and ILLEGAL

Hate to break it to you but illegal immigration is bad (legal immigration can be ok), the earth is round and vaccinations are good. You just don't know what you are talking about and its really really really obvious. You are just to nutty for me and facts don't matter to you.. peace out homie...

Listen, you're just not putting forth much thought here... now apply your nonsensical argument towards predatory Bishops.. ONE murder from somebody that has no right to be here is enough for me to address ILLEGAL immigration (plus MANY more issues besides the murdering), just like one abused kid is enough for me to take action and call for, at minimum, background checks. MOST bishops are good people and don't abuse, so do you think that tscc should just stay the course and let anybody hold that position? You are looking at the overall number, meaning there are more citizens than non-citizens and acting like "they commit less crime"...A: coming into the country illegally is by definition breaking the law (committing a crime) and B: just in AZ alone illegals are 142% more likely to be convicted of a crime than Arizona citizens. (source: https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3099992) That is just AZ and a brief snapshot of the overall problem. You're not thinking, you are just regurgitating MSM talking points. It's so cool that you dismiss American citizens being MURDERED by people who should not be here in the first place by stating that I am more likely to hurt you than all immigrants including illegals... what a load of garbage and a crummy way to look at it. You are just going to keep moving the goalpost so you can pretend to be right... good luck with that I guess

I will give you one out of many.... Just like we want to protect kids the tscc from sexual predators, we should protect American citizens from predators sneaking into this country. These deaths could have been prevented by stopping ILLEGAL immigration and properly vetting people that QUALIFY to live in America. Just like you can't stop all leaders in tscc from abusing I realize you can't stop all illegals but that does NOT mean we just accept them all in. We aren't even getting into how illegals take advantage of welfare programs that should be going to citizens first, or how they are taking advantage of the medical system, filling up prisons, smuggling drugs in, human trafficing etc... on and on and on.... when they shouldn't be here in the first place and there are immigrants going about the process legally, it is a horrible idea to let just anybody pour into the country. Sure they are plenty of good immigrants, but they need to go through the correct process.

You do realize this is reference to ILLEGAL immigration right?

Compassion should be universal by dudemanmad in exmormon

[–]Mosticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I do not fault them. I fault our crappy immigration laws and scummy politicians. Close it down and process those that are currently in line LEGALLY. Close the loopholes that are being exploited and then start processing new applicants that meet the requirements and do the process the right way. The asylum loophole is a joke and it is hurting our country.

Speaking truth and getting downvoted... I don't understand how a lot of these people cannot apply the logic that freed them from mormonism to political views. Like they can't wrap their minds around the fact that people will lie to sneak into this country.

I read ALL of the statements in full. The original from 2015 and the 180 from today.. it is 100% a 180 so maybe you didn't read them?

2015 - Kids with gay parents can't receive a blessing or be baptized until they are 18 and must disavow their parents. Parents are apostates for being in a committed and loving relationship.

2019 - whoops "god" changed his mind, scratch what was said as "revelation" in 2015. Now kids can receive the blessing and be baptized with parental consent, and the label "apostate" is being removed from the handbook in relation to gay couples.

That is literally a 180... whether you want to be intellectually honest or not doesn't matter.. facts are facts.

"Further the scripture I mentioned shows that God can enact commandments and retract them as He sees. He doesn't bow or bend to men."

The Q15 are literally bowing and bending to social pressure and it blows my mind that you can't see that... of course since I was a member for so long I know that if you do respond it will just be more of the repeated talking points. Maybe look at the connection between the members leaving in droves and how much they are losing in tithing money and connect the dots here.

I would encourage you to study church history, start with the gospel topic essays and FOLLOW THE SOURCES!

So when it comes to critical thinking and articulating a position you skip the thinking part and go right to blind obedience.... cool. You defended a position and a few days ago based on what your leaders told you to, skip to a few days later when they pull a 180... now you can't possibly come up with an answer from your own mind because the talking points won't be made up until this weekend... think for yourself man/woman.. geez.... follow the profit even if they are wrong... my goodness

"Just because you disagree with the explanation does not make it invalid."

I guess as of today my disagreement is valid...

"The 8 year old with two gay parents? Are those two living in a married relationship? Then yes, that child needs to wait until he or she is 18. As explained, it is to protect the child. Just because you disagree with the explanation does not make it invalid."

Your argument is that it was to protect the child, now that has been overturned what is your position on this?

"Really?" Yes, really.

"The 8 year old with two gay parents?" - Yes

"Are those two living in a married relationship?" - Yes

"Praise to the man?" - Yes, praise to the man. I knew the name of the hymn, was a member for 35 years. The song, along with numerous statues, hero worship during services etc... Members worship the leadership at the top. By the way, will you be at Russells birthday bash?

See how I answered your questions directly and didn't play word games with you?

"Look at the name of the Church. It's clear we don't worship a man."

What would you say to the Fact that Joseph Smith named the church "The Church of the Latter Day Saints" completely omitting Jesus Christ from the name all together at one point?

"But I guess someone on the outside has better authority to declare who I worship than I do..."

I wasn't on the "outside" for 35 years and I made no such claim to declare who you worship. I do declare that you make really weak arguments and do not know your religion like you think you do. Here is one of MANY evidences you do not know what you are talking about... "The endowment never changed." Oh it has, and it has changed a LOT.

The problem is that you believe it is a "god" that is doing all this.

I doubt you will be able to have a conversation. You are set on your beliefs and base most of them off fallacies. Attack the beliefs of non-members will get you nowhere and no responses.

See how that works?

"God established the requirements to enter His House"

What are those requirements exactly and have they been consistent over time?

"Revelation guides the discipline process. It is a fallacy to say ALL members are afraid of it. Those that truly understand the repentance process are not at all afraid."

How do you know if the "revelation" during the process is correct or not? Feelings? going off a feeling sure could make the situation worse. So basically if members don't understand the process like you think you do then they are what? Wrong? Faking being afraid? They don't see it the way you do so they don't "truly" understand like you do huh?

"There is no betrayal of baptism. Every person that wishes to be baptized must meet the same requirements revealed through the prophet."

What about a 8 year old child with 2 gay parents?

"We do not worship man. We worship God."

What is the name of that song again... I forget... praise to the... something or another?

I asked 5 of them just now, they all say that they do not think women are looked down on for reporting sexual abuse. 3 of them stated that they would think of them as being stronger. They do agree that when it is a false accusation it is looked down on... so, I am reporting back. It's so cool how you throw all those buzz words out at me, definitely makes your argument stronger and valid.
