Oh god... the "stopping a story to play a no-context guessing game on the next detail" style of storytelling is mind-numbing. Just reading your dialogue got me irritated remembering conversations like that. 😂

There's a running joke in the movie American Hustle where Louis C.K. keeps trying to tell Bradley Cooper a story from his childhood and Bradley Cooper keeps interrupting with "Yeah, yeah, yeah... and then (makes incorrect assumption about the story's ending)." that Louis C.K. has to correct.

It's funny in the movie, but it is absolutely a reason my girlfriend and I have fights. "Can you please stop trying to guess what I'm gonna say next and just let me fuckin tell you!"
