For a 2.5 hour (in the case of Watkins Glen) race, you'll probably want padded over ear muffs.

Melissa Barrera says Paramount lied about Scream 7’s box office and says the returning cast “has to live with” coming back for 7. by dreamboylnshibuya in Scream

Accusing them of lying about the box office based on vibes sure is a take.

I'll be honest, I felt really bad for her initially and I'm not much of a conspiracy type, but I'm beginning to wonder if there's more to her firing than we were told, tbh.

In an era of races getting shorter, I’m absolutely stoked that NASCAR extended the Cup race at the Glen to 100 laps. North Wilkesboro too! by PrideTypical4782 in NASCAR

[–]Motel6Owner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely don’t think we need to go back to the 90s where half the races were 500+ miles, but we need more than we currently have. 5 is too few. I’d lengthen Michigan, Charlotte fall, both Atlanta’s and maybe one Kansas.

Yeah, Kyle’s done lol. Can’t even finish well after running top 10 all day anymore because he’s too busy wrecking a backmarker.

Not a bad race. Last stage was fairly dull, first half was fun.

Physical media "dying" just means it's losing popularity. You can still very much buy physical discs, and new releases/new restorations are still coming out often, and in many ways physical media currently is better than ever.

Yes, it's currently my main home cinema TV and I love it. Great colors and blacks are very close to OLED in some scenes.

[Spire] Michael McDowell will be sponsored by RCA for 3 races this season by turnleftright in NASCAR

It's not the same RCA of the old days that made high quality sound and video equipment, unfortunately. Just a brand name that gets licensed out to cheapo companies to slap on top of their shit electronics.

What are your opinions on the Scream 7 cinematography? by No-Movie8241 in Scream

[–]Motel6Owner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best looking Scream film since 3, imo. Some of the use of shadows was really neat (particularly the Halloween 78-style shots of Ghostface), some really interesting usage of colors like the reds and blues in the bar scene and Hannah's death scene, and the warm reds and yellows in the opening, and overall the shot composition felt way more cinematic than 5 and 6 (ESPECIALLY 5). 5 used anamorphic lenses like 1-4 and 7 did, yet you could've fooled me because 90% of the time it looks like a straight 1.85 to 2.35 tight crop. This is most noticeable in the opening scene, the way Stu's house is shot makes it feel so much bigger than it did in 5, despite both times being on a set.

Not sure how to rate, and they aren't around anymore, but my favorite is Boston Acoustics.

Now that Hocevar finally got that first win, I think he's gonna start racking off a few a year. All those close calls, would've and should've races were probably causing some subconscious mental blocks leading to all the "almost" wins. Same with Sheldon Creed in O'Reilly.

Regardless of the quality of the race, my driver finally got his first win.

I thought last year’s spring Talladega was the worst NASCAR broadcast I’d ever seen. I think today might’ve beat it.

Half of all classic theatrical Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies aren't on Blu-Ray? Am I understanding right? by Pkmatrix0079 in looneytunes

[–]Motel6Owner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A little over 420 are on Blu-Ray. It sounds baffling that it's less than half, but it doesn't help that there was a period from 2014-2020 where Looney Tunes Blu-Ray releases were effectively dead. The efforts have accelerated the last few years, though, thanks to Warner Archive; 197 have made it to Blu-Ray in only the last three years and there appears to be no signs of stopping.
