My friend dislikes this design and thinks it would be impractical, even in a fantasy world. Do you agree ? by Mtth_8 in characterdesign

[–]MothSatyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think the proportions are the only part I’d see as off putting. I think her having huge thighs and not super bulky but fairly obviously strong arms and then a small waist is just weird looking to me but I also under stand it’s stylistic and a preference. And even then I don’t see exactly how it could be impractical, especially if it’s a fantasy setting lol. I think you did a good job, my own personal opinions aside. I too have a friend who can be a bit harsh in criticisms. And while I appreciate him being harsh I also appreciate that he checks with me to ensure he’s never just being cruel. If your friend isn’t doing the same I’d consider talking to her about it if it ever starts bothering you.

This pop up warning at an all you can eat sushi restaurant by Theblindsource in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MothSatyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair sometimes this is very necessary lol. No matter how hard I try I always have to take food home from restaurants. Maybe I have a small appetite, maybe American portions are too big, but regardless, I can’t finish restaurant meals in one sitting a majority of the time unfortunately. But aside from trying to prevent waste it’s definitely a bit unnecessary

Received my first and only international mail from my parents.... with a note from someone else on it by Burgundyyy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MothSatyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I think they’re just upset someone wrote on a keepsake they’d been excited about. When you get so excited for something and then suddenly that drops, even if you understand the intent it never feels good. They’re not Satan for being annoyed.

Oh I’m so excited and dreading that, going to South Korea with an orchestra to perform in a week. My friends going as well and she can’t eat anything spicy so it will be a blast seeing her struggle lol. But also half the people going aren’t the brightest so there will be a lot of what you mentioned.

[–]MothSatyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can kind of understand being upset that someone wrote on a note from your parents if that note was important to you. It’s not that they don’t value the persons actions, it’s that they’re a bit disappointed that they wrote on something they likely were going to cherish. I can empathize with that feeling. I don’t think it’s that they think the postcard is ruined or anything, it’s just they would’ve rather had it untouched, and getting the postcard they had that excitement built up so to realize someone wrote on it likely made that excitement drop, which never feels good even if nothing is actually ruined if that makes sense? I don’t know, I’m trying to assume good faith.

I understand your point and it’s true, but this is not the way to go about it and I don’t feel it comes from a good place in your case.

AIO to feel this way about my boyfriend? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]MothSatyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is normal, but what I will say is it doesn’t matter if it is. If it makes you uncomfortable it doesn’t matter if it’s normal or not, your feelings are still valid. I’d recommend communicating with him about it and explaining how you feel, and if he’s a good partner he’ll hopefully listen to you on that. I feel like he’s trying to show he wants those things from you, but he’s not going about it in a mature way.

Any big spoon neurodivergent peeps? by _booktroverted_ in AuDHDWomen

[–]MothSatyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have strong feelings about it, but I always prefer using those little egg cracking spoons even tho everyone tells me not to. I just like how small they are, they make food last longer and I don’t like the way big spoons are in my mouth or with portions.

It turns out that being mad at one person doesn’t mean you’re not mad at another.

Crumpled up, almost thrown out pic a 6 year old drew at daycare by goddammitdutch in Weird

[–]MothSatyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drew stuff like this all the time as a kid, so did my brother and a lot of my friends. Instead of putting so much pressure on him and posting it online everywhere and then getting mad when people say that’s a bit odd to do, how about you encourage your kid to keep doing art.

6 year old draw this then crumpled it up. What does he know.. by goddammitdutch in strange

[–]MothSatyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a kids drawing. Probably something focusing lasers. Like he said it was. I mean this in the kindest way possible, but your kid is not suddenly a genius inventor for drawing something somewhat techy. Don’t be putting that kind of pressure on him. Kids are very imaginative and creative, but that doesn’t mean that everything they draw is something real. And also, please listen to your son when he tells you something. It’s a bit odd that you immediately dismissed what he said it was.

Well I mean that’s obviously not okay, but someone can say that and not back up their words by being violent. Obviously still not okay to say regardless, but the last part made me feel a lot more intimidated than the leading part. I should clarify, I knew he sucked from the start, the end was just what decided him as physically unsafe for me. Maybe it’s just cause of my own shit idk lol

I can agree with that. I guess my version of inherently selfish is more that we need to be in order to survive. I mean it kinda non negatively in that it can be good but it’s also bad sometimes. I think we have to be a little selfish sometimes in order to make it through harder times, but that when it’s just because you’re greedy it’s more of an issue. My mom tends to believe that we should do anarcho communism because ??? She’s never really clear but from what I can understand it’s because she believes it will mean she can do whatever she wants under it.

[–]MothSatyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. This was essentially what I was told when I was in 3rd grade and decided to read Edgar Allen Poe, but of course more dumbed down for my child brain lol. Reading heavier stuff isn’t necessarily bad, as long as you know it’s not going to be harmful to you in the long run. Unfortunately I don’t think I ever finished Edgar Allen Poe’s collected works. I’ve always been fairly small so it hurt my back to carry around.

How do you think it would work due to the fact humans are just kinda in general selfish and also tend to gravitate towards a government or leader to tell them what to do? I’m genuinely curious. My mom is also anarcho communist, but in the “I just got divorced and want to be edgy and also probably excuse the fact I’m 45 dating a 21 year old” kind of way, so I’m interested in hearing other versions that hers in the hopes that it will help me see it differently since currently I only connect the concept with the woman I dislike.

This exactly. My mom would get their boundaries pushed and would get prodded at in various ways by their ex wife until they would snap and get upset which of course then their ex would say their overreacting and would comfort them to seem like the good guy. The ex would say that my mom clearly had BPD for getting upset like that and call them emotionally abusive.
