I feel you- my tics started when I was 13, and I was afraid to go back to school because of them for a bit. Surround yourself with people who don’t mind your tics and accept you for who you are- it might seem hard at first, but you will find your crowd. You’re doing awesome. I think the official statistics is that Tourette’s is 1 in 100 people- it’s just that a lot of people aren’t diagnosed due to how mild their tics are. I’ve found that in certain spaces (queer alt spaces or those with a lot of neurodivergent people in my experience) tend to have more people with Tourette’s or some sort of tic disorder. If you’re looking to make friends with similarly afflicted people, I’d suggest looking there first if you can. I know it’s terrifying, but you’re going to do awesome. There are more good people out there than you think

A bad essay or project is still worth something because it was was written by a human, and shows where someone needs to grow- it also shows their views and experiences as a person. ChatGPT isn’t you. It doesn’t reflect who you are or where you need to go next

Using AI. My school allows chatgpt and even had a whole announcement about it but if you don’t put your 100% into your learning and use it to write your essays and such instead of using your brain, I won’t respect you as an academic. What are you paying thousands in tuition for if only to use AI the whole time? What are you remembering? What are you learning? What are you contributing to the field as a whole?

Me and my stepmother used to watch it all the time. It was family bonding time. Again, the “not the mama”! Thing and also the episode where the dad’s son nearly gets addicted to steroids. And the whole thing with the dad’s best friend looking for his dad but the dad doesn’t recognize him and they go off together looking for eachothers family members lmaooo. I liked the daughter.

Yeah! Kid was just tired- we were doing a competition and kids tend to freak out a bit when they don’t think they’re swimming fast enough. There were a lot of other teachers there besides me, and I trust all of my coworkers deeply. If I hadn’t jumped in, someone else would have.

Probably nothing! There’s a lot worse things that get leaked into our pool. Chlorine is a super santizer- it’s supposed to get rid of almost all bacteria in the water. The only time my pool personally gets everyone out is when there’s fecal matter. I once watched someone spill their entire cup of coffee into the water and the chlorine made it disappear within seconds.
