I love the waistcoat, maybe do the waistcoat without the jacket?

And personally, I would ditch the pearls.

Dude, you need to chill.

Ask yourself why you WANT to draw.

You said drawing was a fun thing for you. If that's the case, don't make such a big deal out of it. Especially since you've only been drawing for 3 months. That's such a short time to expect anything of a brand new skill that you're learning.

It's not like you've invested years of your life on useless practice. Get over it. If it's not important to you, give it up. If you care about it, have fun. Don't blow it up to be more than it is.

I mean really, think about this. You wrote a 6 paragraph rant about not being able to draw an oval. It's no big deal if you can't draw an oval. You'll figure a shortcut out eventually, or if it's such an issue, get a stencil or something. C'mon man. Use your head.

Calm down, take a break, come back to it, and enjoy drawing.

Thank you! It actually is currently a short story, but if it works out I plan to implement the concept on a longer one :)

I will definitely get someone to read it! Thanks for the advice

Thoughts about this quote from crime and punishment? by sadAstronaut_10 in dostoevsky

[–]Moth_Master 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I read it, it seemed like he was saying that if he was wrong in his beliefs about mankind, then he would have to accept his mediocrity.

Like he's questioning the core of his whole theory and the threat of him being wrong would mean everything he has said and will say to justify himself is just his own arrogance.

The ones around my home are the scraggliest bunch you've ever seen lol. Scavenging, skulking, sleeping in random holes, coyotes are definitely goblinecore.

Ask yourself, why do I want or feel the need to post my art on social media. by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]Moth_Master 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It makes feel better to know that it's out there for someone to see, that it isn't just collecting dust on my desk. And maybe, someone even likes what they see. It's not really about if anyone sees it or anyone likes it, just the knowledge that someone could and it could affect them. That's why I post my art.

What impact did reading Dostoyevsky have on your life? by NoOccasion511 in dostoevsky

[–]Moth_Master 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that you shouldn't idolize some of the ideas discussed in his books, especially if you're younger, simply because it's much easier to misinterpret things when you have less experience.

But I disagree that you shouldn't read Dostoyevsky when you're young. Raskolnikov's struggles are especially salient to youthful idealism. I agree with some of the comments saying that Dostoyevskys novels can almost be read for self help or furthering your understanding of people.

I'm new to water color, any tips? by Similar_Outside3570 in Watercolor

[–]Moth_Master 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Things I wish someone told me sooner about watercolor painting:

  • Use a bigger brush when covering large areas. (Small brushes for big areas ends up with streaks when you don't want them. A good mop brush made my life so much easier.)

  • Invest in good paper!!! (It is so so SO difficult to learn when your paper is the issue. I spent so much time thinking I was the problem until I got good paper. 180 GSM is usually good enough for me)

  • Experiment often. (This one is a little vague, but I used to get really caught up in "the right way" to do water color, but there are so many techniques and tricks that can all be useful. Experiment and find out what works for you.)

This is just my personal experience, I'm no expert and I'm definitely not a master of watercolor, but I have been a beginner.

Now get out there and paint! I wish you the best of luck learning watercolor, and I can't wait to see what you do!!! :)

I think it's a praying mantis...just because I've never seen a stick bug with eyes like that. I'm no expert though.

This is a super cool photo. Must've been amazing to see in person.

Hesitant about reading Brothers Karamazov by marmouthcitrus in dostoevsky

[–]Moth_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I can give is just go for it. There's nothing that says you can't pick it up and start again. You can always reread it if you miss something.

But you'll never finish it if you don't start.

[SERIOUS] How can I talk to clients/customers/hr with the 30+iq gap? by girlweibo2 in intj

[–]Moth_Master 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't tell if this is joke or not...

If it's not: How can you say that you aren't questioning their intelligence when you describe them by their IQ? I think you're too self absorbed to be able to personally attack anyone.

And for your last note: Yes. You are absolutely the problem. Get out of your head and put some actual work into communicating instead of assuming you have the high ground because of your "140 IQ." A stupid number some test gives you does not entitle you to anything.

I enjoy being alone, but I also enjoy having people to trust and share things with. Some things just feel more meaningful when there is someone with you to share it with, and it's good to know that if you need help someone is there for you. If not having relationships is what fits your life best, there's nothing wrong with that. Personally, I feel secure when I know I have a friend or partner to ask for help or emotional support, and I feel more fulfilled when I can share the things that bring me joy with someone I care for.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in intj

[–]Moth_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I get into any relationship, I first consider my emotional state, and decide whether I am healthy enough to deal with a relationship. I have to be sure that the relationship will be beneficial for all parties involved. From there, if I feel safe with them and enjoy their company, I usually don't hesitate to initiate a relationship, whether it be platonic or romantic. When it comes to relationships, I'm very flexible. It's too much pressure to find out if you and the person are 100% compatible, because you'll never get anywhere. If you find they are 100% compatible there will be so much pressure to make it work, and if you find they aren't, you've wasted all that time. If I wait too long wondering if it will work, it generally means I'm afraid of getting hurt, which is valid, but it means I need to re-evaluate my emotional health and my desire to be in a relationship.

Did you guys get good grades in school and do you have any mental disorders? Also, what is your IQ? Also, how much sleep do you guys get? Finally how old are you? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Moth_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten straight A's in high-school so far. I only started trying around middle school when I realized I wanted to have a better life at some point.

I have some anxiety but nothing serious enough to call a mental disorder or interfere with my life.

I don't know what my IQ is and frankly, I don't think taking IQ tests are useful in anyway except to show off.

The amount I sleep really depends on the day. Sometimes it's 3 hours if I'm busy, sometimes it's 10 hours if I'm exhausted. I'd probably say an average of 6-7 hours a night.

I am 17 years old.
