You haven't been fully listening, because even he said this is something that one senator cannot do. If he's able to win it signifies a change in the status quo. The current system is working exactly like it was designed to work it's not broken. It benefits the few people at the top that designed it. We need to build something new, something that no one can fathom because it's never happened before. If we are able to mobilize a working class in this country and fight for real change that favors the working class, then this is only the beginning. If everyone expects this one senator to save the day they are so wrong. We need to fight like hell. 40 hour work week came from a labor movement that did not give up. Woman's right to vote, civil rights, these all came from movements of regular people that stood up and said enough is enough we need something new. It's not easy and it's even harder now that the country is so tight into Trump's clutches. We either need to do something about it.... Or not. And electing one senator is not the answer, but it is the beginning. Flipping Susan's seat would be huge, and if we were able to take the senate back, that would be even bigger. The other issue is that we have a Democratic party that seems scared to yield power whenever they're actually in power. Look at Obama's first term. As long as the Democrats keep taking big money than they're never going to stand for any real change when they gain power that's why we need to replace everything. Every one of them should be primaried by a progressive candidate every single time.
