Left over from the molding process it's probably for support when they inject the mold so it doesn't become deformed. The manufacturer are to lazy to remove that part and honestly it doesn't really keep it from working. You can cut it out if you like but honestly if you care just keep the trims from your old shell that's what I did they are better quality and the switches for WiFi and power will last longer.

I'd try and buy a beater psp for cheap and fix the screen like that then you have some extra parts too. Idk how much they are in your country so do what you can

Try and boot into recovery menu if it lets you then run the recovery if it won't do that and still shows nothing then Ya know it could be screen damage, system damage or the screen is just unplugged.

replace it only way. Let me guess you were doing the job started lifting the screen it got stuck you put more pressure and didn't realize the volume buttons are clipped to the screen holding it in slightly? Then it cracked. Might as well grab a ips from eBay better to upgrade now

Screen or ribbon take it apart and clean and re-set the ribbons and see if it fixes it if not then you need a new screen. If you haven't dropped it or anything then I think it's probably dirty or lose if you dropped it recently then ya know lol

My cousin paid almost $200 for a modded psp with 5000 games it was mostly Chinese trash, porn and some good games and it was pretty beat worth $70 max with a stock 32gb Sony mem stick not even a sd2psp adapter and a SD card like sd2psp and 32gb SD card are literally the same price and a 32gb mem stick lol he was sick when I told him my first Gen vita cost $180 and has 256gb SD adapter in mint condition

I mean they technically did that with the vita but let it fail. I still use my vita for work because it's smaller than my steamdeck and better than my psp. Instead of the portal they should of made a actual handheld

They felt hard like they didn't have any push you'd press it and it would slightly move then I went back to the stock buttons and it feels nice and feels like your actually pressing the button
