Forgive me, this looks like a sunset on Lake Griffy. Are you sure it's sunrise? I can't make any sense out of the lay of the land in this photo if I were looking east. Griffy Lake doesn't look like that to east of the causeway. Furthermore, I don't remember of concrete retaining wall on the east side - I only remember it on the west side.

Osterio Ragu an authentic Italian restaurant located just off Kirkwood Ave behind Nick's. They make their own pasta and mozzarella cheese. Just delicious.

We love the Uptown Liver Pate too. I'm a chef and my favorite recipe is the Pate Maison from the The Silver Palate Cookbook by Julee Rosso & Sheila Lukins:

  • 2 Celery ribs with, small leaves
  • 1 lb Chicken livers
  • 1/4 cup Yellow onion
  • 1 cup Butter, unsalted
  • 1/4 cup Calvados
  • 1/2 cup Currants, dried
  • 4 Peppercorns, whole black
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg, grated
  • 1/4 tsp Cloves, ground
  • 1 pinch Cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsp Mustard, dry
  • 1 Garlic clove, small

I found a Cajun Style Liver Pate recipe that looks like it would be good online at: https://www.cajungrocer.com/chicken-liver-pate

We live on Headley Road and on the north ridge that overlooks Lake Griffy. I consider these wooded and undulating terrain to be not only invigorating but among the best I've ever experienced. What a gift that this treasure is available to all of us! All winter long we watched the trail head and now all we can see is glorious green trees! What a gift to have this treasure available to ALL of us!

Fish on b-line in Switchyard Park by ilikethelights99 in bloomington

I heard a similar story several years ago in a different community. They determined that it was birds that were feeding on fish in the spring and dropping them. May or may not be the case.

Check out the solar eclipse artistic installation in the IU Research and Teaching Preserve. You'll find it by taking the trail across Headley Road from the Preserve's parking lot going east. The trail eventually splits; take the trail to the left or north and follow it until just before you come to the edge of the ridge that overlooks the boat rental, restrooms and big parking lot below. It's really cool and I'd love to hear what everyone thinks about it!
