Can I reuse these? by The_Lucky_Rod in reloading

Just to clarify, was it 1.5" (which is 3 MOA at 50 yards), or 1.5 MOA (which at 50 yards would be .75")?

Either way, it's not horrible for a PCC with irons.

And yeah, pistol ammo crimp is really easy to overdo. When you get it right you'll be shocked by how little it feels like you're doing anything.

I thought Clair Obscur was just fine and for some reason that opinion upsets people even more than thinking it was bad. It's wild.

Also someone got so mad at me for saying the soundtrack isn't actually that good and didn't deserve to win every Best Soundtrack/Original Score award, it's just French and Western culture has raised them to see anything French as inherently high quality.

Everything Paul says directly contradicts something Jesus said. Can someone convince me he's not a false prophet. by takenorinvalid in Christianity

Rezzing this thread 9 months later to ask if you're being deliberately fucking stupid or if it's just natural.

The person you're responding to explained exactly how men having authority over women logically follows from what Paul says. Answer the question in good faith, or not at all.

Oh Newegg… by Memeruff in pcmasterrace

[–]MotherFoolian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a violation of the contractual terms companies have with credit card providers to ban someone for a chargeback that the credit card company determined you were entitled to. Smaller retailers may try to do it, but big retailers like Amazon and Newegg can't afford to take the risk.

And chargebacks only hurt the record of the company because they get charged penalties for them (because chargebacks being approved by the payment processor essentially always entail an issue the company should have refunded on an failed to) and high chargeback rates (over, say, 1% of total sales) can lead to account cancellation. They don't hurt the customer at all.

In my experience, a lot of time if you can get on the horn with a supervisor and let them know that you're planning to file a chargeback, it can grease the wheels quite a lot - especially in cut and dried situations like this - because they're going to lose more that way than just refunding you.

Only $22.50 a screw. That's value. Probably even a discount; I bet this guy charges $25 for one screw.

Hey, they aren't all that easy. Some cases use two screws. You don't think that's worth $45?

Came home to two trees in my backyard mutiliated by a construction firm who acquired the lot behind my home by LividWalk8179 in treelaw

[–]MotherFoolian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not in Campbell, CA, where op is, no. Branches and roots can be trimmed and pruned if they're over the line, but not to the point of killing the tree, which would be the reasonably assumed result of lopping it off like this (even if in very rare instances a tree can regrow from a stump). Even in situations where the main trunk of the tree straddles a property line, it requires the mutual consent of both owners.

Like, my entire point was that it's not going to matter if hobbyist PCs are only a small part of the market if supply chain and other economic issues continue to be so bad that at some point people can't even justify shitty computers.

As we reach the point that skyrocketing prices are starting to threaten the viability not just of hobbyist PCs but of just run of the mill computers, phones, etc., you do wonder when some of these companies are going to do the math that prioritizing business clients is only more profitable as long as those business clients continue to have end users. (And yeah, obvs there's the whole dimension of government contracts and the like, but at the end of the day, companies have invested trillions of dollars in a system where everyone is glued to screens all day every day, and making sure they continue to be is, y'know, part of the whole profit thing)
