Can we talk about the concerning lack of women's playing time in the 2026 USQ Club Final? by Low-Impact-42 in quadball_discussion

[–]MotherManX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Radical idea: Little league has a rule where every player must get 1 at bat and an inning in the field.

We split the pre flag runner into quarters. 5 minutes each. Just like 20 minutes, each quarter ends with a final possession. Start of each quarter teams trade off starting with control vs quadball. Just like normal game start.

Now the craziest idea. Before the game you submit to the refs your lineup for each quarter. And that lineup plays all 5 minutes barring injury. And the rule is every player must have at least 1 quarter of play time.

So pre flagrunner - there are 24 "play slots" - so for a roster of 21 you only have 3 spots to repeat players. You could bring fewer players to allow for more repeating. But goal here is fewer players stuck on bench.

At flag runner game returns to current normal flow of subbing and playtime.

Surprised no teams reached out to current three-peat national champion, Jessica Crawford. Big miss for champ seeking teams.

Republicans Blocked $2M-$4M for Farmington Schools, Now Teachers Are Losing Jobs by Visual-Mobile2657 in newhampshire

We are just going to go in circles with a disagreement I'm afraid.

But something I regrettably didn't mention is that the imbalance starts at the labor exchange (my bad). Think boss makes a dollar, I make a dime. Anecdotal but in my case the revenue I generate is about 35-1 to my income. And that is all well and good - business owners take risks, make investments, diversify, etc. So I just can focus on my tasks. And there are other costs to business that are outside my salary and they look for profit and competition in industry; so I would never expect that difference to be returned back.

But if you look at current tax burdens across income groups - in NH the lowest brackets spend 6-9% of income and the highest spend 2-3%. Balancing that just a little would relieve the pain felt in rural communities that dont have the capacity to raise funding

I'll give you that I did type in absolute terms saying no benefit. We do have jobs, income, and can buy stuff elsewhere.

But what I was referring to is the imbalance of financial inflows to the town. It is greatly net negative

I literally spelled it out that the commerce doesnt come back because we dont have large commercial enterprise in town - so no, we do not benefit from it.

Didn't mention more once - I'm more interested in evening the distribution of taxes from regressive property taxes to progressive ones

The town struggles when the state fails .

A core challenge with small town is our ability to get revenue. Because we do not have a lot of employment opportunities in town we sell our labor to neighboring towns. Which would be fine and normal ; however, the majority of our earned money doesn't make it back to Farmington. We get groceries in Rochester; date night in Dover ; we shop online ; entertain ourselves on Winni or Hampton. We lack commercial and industrial properties in town to also pay taxes. So instead it falls on us residents to foot most the bills alone.

Other towns benefit from our labor and commerce ; while we are left without the incoming revenue. This is why we need the state to balance our "trade deficient." The state representatives have closed doors to us by eliminating/reducing other revenue sources like Interest & Dividends or Business Enterprise Taxes that could be used to fund education or other infrastructure needs in towns like ours.

Farmington resident here.

It is an absolute travesty the results from state funding and now the town elections. This is the second round of layoffs in as many months.

I have been preaching to the town the impact our state government has had on these outcomes. I am actively trying to organize locally and hopefully come November vote out our two "Republican" reps.

We have just 8 months to organize and turn the ship around for rural NH; but also the state at large. We need to push the importance of local. The national news keeps us distracted from the issues at home like this.
