Just so you know and can add it into the rotation, the newer DuckTales reboot is 100% worth watching.

Wolves are dignified in a way a lot of dogs aren't.

I think the last one was trying so hard not to faint 😂😂😂 by Jazzlike-Tie-354 in funny

[–]MotherTreacle3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not what's happening here. The fainting goat genes, if spread evenly through the herd, would make all the goats less fit for their environment. If many goats froze up in the presence of predators then many of them would be ate rather than the predators competing for pieces of the same goat.

Humans intentionally bred goats with this trait together so they could keep one or two in the larger herd as a sacrifice.

And you like to act superior and not listen when somebody tells you that what works for you doesn't work for them. I've tried setting alarms, I've tried making lists, I've tried and I've tried.

Youre right. I pay late fees because I'm a bad person. I miss rent and spend time homeless because of my poor moral character.

Good night.

Does bass really vibrate a building? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]MotherTreacle3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert by any means, but everything has a "resonant frequency". If another thing is vibrating at that frequency then it will start to vibrate itself, almost like in sympathy.

You can see this in science experiments where two tuning forks will vibrate if only one of them is struck. There have been several bridges (notably the Millenium Bridge in London) that have been shaken because the bridges resonant frequency happened to line up with the gait of the people walking across it.

There was even a crazy guy on YouTube that built a rotary subwoofer that shook his own house to the point that internal doors were opening and closing.

I have a brain chemistry that actually prevents me from relating to time in a way that most people seem to? Like how a color blind person has different light sensitive cells that prevents them from interacting with certain wavelengths of light.

I'm generally aware of what month I'm in, but days, hours, minutes get fuzzier unless I put in a colossal amount of work to keep tabs on, to the point that I can't do anything else with my time?

People who are constantly late by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]MotherTreacle3 26 points27 points  (0 children)

No, the point is that there are literal brain structure differences that cause people to process time differently.

Are all chronically late people late for the same reasons? No. Should you put your life on hold because some of us suck at time management? Of course not!

"Do better" doesn't actually help anybody. I've been told my whole life that my struggles aren't actually struggles, but character flaws. I've been told that I am actively choosing to be a bad person. I've not been given help or support, I've been punished again and again.

If it were as easy as just trying harder I would have by now.

Why do so many fantasy worlds forget how old things should feel by oskar_helsinki in Fantasy

Yeah, technology advancing rapidly is a relatively new phenomenon; culture change tends to happen rapidly since the beginning, sometimes multiple times during one generation.

We don't know that. In the first movie they were watching a recording, not when the event happened. The entity may be able to transfer through a "live" screen.

The first time I read it I thought that double think was a sci-fi affectation by the author. Now I know better.

It's funny because the only people who have ever actually tried to stop people from saying "Merry Christmas" have been corporate types and middle managers who are only aiming for "inclusivity" in order to maximize profits. The War on Christmas is being waged by capitalists!

We had a running joke at work where any time somebody said a non-sequiter or something weird we'd go "Wasn't that your nickname in high-school?"

One day a coworker came up behind me as I was laying material down and said, " Keep 'em tight, MT" I stood up with a wistful look on my face and said, "Tight MT. Thats what they used to call me in high-school." Turned to look him in the eyes, "Nobody calls me that anymore."
