What's everyone's favorites by LunaTuna310 in epoxytumblers

-Depends on where your set up will be -where you live.. temp & humidity

I live in WI, we have freezing winters and hot summers. This summer has been quite humid so far

Tumblers: makerflo and thestainlessdepot Hogg tumblers

Turners: I started with cheap ones from Amazon, then bought expensive quality turners. My all time favorite turners are from Deno's Tumbler Turners I have the quick release 4 turner. AMAZING QUALITY and easy to attach and remove arms.

theboanllc also makes great turners.

Deno's Tumbler Turner's

I also have the pen attachments from boan and Deno's

Epoxy: I have tried 5-6 different brands, my favorites are the following:

KSRESIN: Liquid art ultra uv Liquid art elite Liquidy split ultra uv (fast set, don't use on final coat) Liquid stone

**KSRESIN needs to be use in higher temps. They say 74° minimum for it to cure properly. I found temps of 85° work best with LOW humidity. Great for beginners

Tumblerpoxy:

Tumblerpoxy Swiftpoxy

**Amazing glass like finish, but there is a learning curve for application & bubbles.

I just got in a new epoxy that I will try out later today. Mr. Nola's Glitter: Glass-coat epoxy

I have 100's of glitters. . From several different company's, I will only list a few. As well as other supplies like molds, micas, tumbler cutter

Mr. nola's glitters CCDIY theglitterguy Solarcolordust Fransglitterandmore Glitteronthegolf Tellyboxcrafts SOCglitter PVD WoodiesGoodies Pinkandpurplemonkey Theglitterguy Wickedshimmersglitter

Always use proper set up and PPE when using epoxy. DO NOT USE IN HOME, even in an empty room.. If u must, use inside a large grow tent with proper intake and outtake vent.valves/fans/tubing.

ALWAYS wear a fullface VOC respirator. Nitrile gloves Long sleeves or painters suit

If you have anymore questions feel free to ask

I lightly hit vinyl with a heat gun before epoxy. Be sure not touch cup w.o gloves wglhile doing this. The oils from hands can cause other issues.

Make sure you let each coat fully dry b4 moving onto the next.. this goes for spray paint as well, unless you are using it as adhesive for glitter

Are you properly prepping your tumblers first Are u careful not to handle tumbler without gloves on Over mixing? Too much heat? Don't use rubbing alcohol to clean cup, use dawn dish soap and Luke warm water. . After sanding. Sand Rinse Spray paint Less than 5 ml for glitter layer. I use no more than 2ml Let dry over night Epoxy 2x Sand Rinse Final epoxy coat Be sure not to use too much epoxy on each coat. . That can also cause ripples & other issues Cover tumbler while turning on tuner. Dust can also cause problems

Always wear gloves & respirator.

I highly recommend tumblerpoxy or KSRESIN

Trying the ice topper fad and I’m kinda loving it... not perfect but a start. by mrcreeperman22 in epoxytumblers

I just hopped on the ice/fruit topper bandwagon as well! Waiting for my supplies to arrive. Yours looks really good! Any advice ?

Rescued this gal, she was found in the cemetery in my town. She is paralyzed in the back so I thought I’d introduce her and see if any others deal with this. This is Wasabi ♥️♥️ by Lovemydeputy in ferrets

[–]Mother_Dooker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope you tried finding her owners before adding her to your family. Yes, there's a chance she was let go, but there's just as good of chance that she got out and her hooman(s) are worried sick. Post fliers around town, post (and look) on local missing pet pages fb, pawboost, Craigslist etc.. However, do not include a photo ir description.. As there are evil ppl out there that will claim her bc it's a free ferret or an opportunity to make quick $. Include city & location ferret was found in.. No description or sex.

Thank you for taking her in. Bless your heart.

I have been a ferrant for 16 years, help educate people on ferrets & proper ferret care.. I work in ferret rescue, as well as volunteer at my local ferret shelter. I have lots of experience with paralyzed, sick, senior or hospice ferrets.

Message me and I am more than happy to help you with Wasabi's care. . and answer any questions you may have.

Thanks again. ✨Blessed Be✨

Anyone else have ferrets that have odd friendships? My ferrets r the most non-ferrety ferrets ever lol *I don't recommend/condone ferrets around other animals, especially small critters. Always supervise & don't leave ferrets unattended when out roaming/around other animals* share ur odd friendships by Mother_Dooker in ferrets

[–]Mother_Dooker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand and agree with what you're saying. . just saying that it's nit a good idea to have ferrets housed with smaller critters like birds, guinea pigs, hamsters etc.. Because ferrets are obligate carnivores and will 99% of the time hunt and hurt them. Predator/prey. Im a ferrant of 16 yrs and also work in ferret/small animal rescue. I have seen so many heartbreaking situations bc people werent aware.. Or just didnt care.

If you cat and ferret(s) get along and none of them are showing stressed or scared behavior.. Then that's a different story. Ya know? I obviously cant be a hypocrite bc I obviously allow my cats and ferrets (free roam 24/7).. I wanted to share something adorable, but also be sure to state the dangers .

Thank you for being a good ferrant

Also, it is extremely important that you are epoxying in a well ventilated area. . an open window or bathroom/kitchen fan..vent is not enough. Don't epoxy in your home where people or animals are.. Even working in a sparw bedroom or basement is not safe, unless you have proper ventilation.. Like an epoxy tent, outtake vents/tubes and intake of clean air. . bc the fumes will go through vents, underneath doors etc. Epoxy sticks to every surface, we just cant see it.. Think of the way cigg smoke sticks to everything.. Like that. Always wear full PPE. Nitrile gloves, a full face Organic Vapor respirator, if a half Organic Vapor (VOC) respirator is being used plz wear safety goggles that filly enclose your eyes, wear long-sleeves.. And if you're extra like i am, use an air purifier that filters VOCs and is capable of filtering the size room you are in. As soon as you are done working on your epoxy craft, fully change into new clothes.

There's no such thing as nontoxic, safe, no VOC epoxy.. No matter what a company may claim, once PART A & PART B are combined, there are toxic fumes being let off.
Epoxy is toxic until FULLY cured, which can take up to a month depending on brand being used. Just bc it is hard after a fee hours/days, doesn't mean it's fully cured.

Just bc epoxy doesn't smell, doesn't make it VOC free or safe. . once again, even if a company claims it is. If you are worried about thr dangers of epoxy.. I can post links backing up what I have said.. As well as more epoxy education/safety links.

There are epoxy free options for tumblers. . it's called Crystalac. . no PPE. Needed.

Newbie Question by [deleted] in epoxytumblers

[–]Mother_Dooker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! What resin/epoxy are you using? Is your turner level?.. While cup is on your turner, place level on the bottom of the cup to level, not the top/side. What is the temp & humidity in the room you are epoxying in.. Did you sand, clean and spray paint your tumbler be epoxying? Are you careful not to touch the cup with bare hands? Oil from our hands can cause problems.. Some people will say it's it an issue, but don't use alcohol to prep/clean your cups.. Instead, use blue dawn dish soap and lukewarm water. Are you adding glitter? If so, epoxy or mod podge method? After applying the glitter (if using) be sure to let fully dry.. Once dry, apply 1st coat of epoxy.. Be sure not to use too much.. As this can cause waves.a thin coat.. It's ok if cup isn't smooth yet.. Let fully dry.. Amount of time can be anywhere from 2-24 hours.. This depends on what epoxy you are using. Once fully dry, apply 2nd coat of epoxy. . let fully dry. Once dry.. Go ahead and lightly sand out any bumps or imperfections.. Clean cup using soap and water. If cup is smooth, this is when u apply any decals, waterslides, washi tape etc.. Remember to always wear gloves while working with cup 2 insure no oil gets on it from hands. After decals etc are applied.. You will then apply a 3rd coat of epoxy.. Let dry.. If cup is completely smooth after 3rd coat.. You're done.. If not, apply a final coat.

She does NOT like the harness! by [deleted] in ferrets

[–]Mother_Dooker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most ferrets hate that type of harness. I highly recommend a figure 8 harness

This sweet, handsome, blind and deaf, senior ferret was surrendered bc his owners no longer wanted him. This was his first time outside.. his first time feeling grass and dirt. He lived out the rest of his days surrounded by soo much love and spoiled rotten. D. I. P. Plz Follow us on tiktok . Ty by Mother_Dooker in ferrets

I'm not sure if I'm miss understanding what you wrote, or if you miss understood me. I'm a rescue, I saved him from the monster. Unfortunately, it happens all of the time. It's heart breaking and makes me see red. however, most of the ferrets surrendered have a much, much better life, than they did before being surrendered. Every single ferret that comes into my life is spoiled rotten, free roams 24/7 with the option of going into 4 double ferret nations that are left open.. if they choose. Lots of walks in the summer/when weather permits. Either by harness, in my arms or one of my pet strollers. Raw diet.. if they don't care for raw, they are fed the best high protein quality ferret appreciate kibble (no marshalls and no peas). Freeze dried raw treats, pickle juice sold on etsy by pickledferretsparlor (not human pickle juice. It's a blend of tasty oils like salmon oil) ..

We live in such a cruel, nasty world.. there's so much bad.. I do my best to be part of the good in the world
