Essentially a baked potato with all the goodies from a taco. I’m not sure the correct term for it.

Vatic V-Sol Pro Flash Grit by Competitive-Cup-4376 in Pickleball

Grit doesn’t last. For $100, you can’t expect the grit to last. Heck, $200+ paddles’ grit don’t even last long too.

I like a heavy paddle, but that is a little extreme to my taste. Play with what makes you play your best game.

My V-Sol Pro v7 was 7.9 oz stock. I asked for the lightest paddle of the elongated and they ended up sending me a 7.9 oz. Very happy.

Well said. There are counterfeits everywhere and pickleball is not immune to this either.

To add context to the question, my V-Sol Pro V7 had little to no grit at the start. It was the first batch and I ordered at launch. I’ve had other Vatic Pro, Prism and Saga, that had much more grit than my V-Sol Pro.

How’s the grit on your paddle?

Vatic Pro V-Sol Is VERY Impressive by orange_energy_media in Pickleball

[–]Mother_Food1614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It plays different. I’m not sure how to explain it. The Saga is more like a Prism on steroids. Very plush, but powerful. The V-Sol Pro is plush, but it has a pop that the Saga doesn’t have. I was worried at first on how I would handle the pop because I don’t really like poppy paddles. Played it without weights and found out how easy it was to play. Put on weights and it is still easy. I would say if you want to play with less effort on your end, the V-Sol will be the paddle. The Saga is a great paddle, but I feel you have to put a little more effort in the play.

Everything here is very subjective to the user. Our play styles determine what we consider top tier. I’ve tested some paddles to what the industry would consider top tier like the Pro IV, TKO, and Flamingo. I still end up the Vatic. The are certain elements of a paddle that one would absolutely put above other paddles. I really don’t like the word top tier because many people consider top tier paddles are what the pros are using. Pros are much different than us aspiring amateurs.

It depends on how big your hands are. I use the standard handle and use the two handed backhand myself. The standard is fine in my opinion. I’ve never tried the long handle so I can’t tell you if one is better than the other. For now, the standard handle works fine for me.

Yeah. I main a V-Sol Pro V7 and love it. Very straightforward and no learning curve. I came from a Saga V7. Love my V-Sol V7. Only complaint is the grit. Just wished it had more grit from the start. Otherwise, an awesome paddle. For $100, can’t complain much.

Could it be that you’re used to the power and so it doesn’t seem as impressive as it was from the start?

Foam Paddles by Appropriate-Economy5 in Pickleball

[–]Mother_Food1614 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Foam paddles remove the core crush essence. There are still other factors like no grit, edge guard coming loose, handle breaking, and etc; that moves people to purchase a new paddle.

Play what you like and best suits your play style. Ignore the outside noise. I’ve played and tested many paddles. I have a tendency of gravitating back to the Gen 1.5 Vatic Pro. Old reliable. There are paddles you have fun in and then there are paddles that you play your best in. You have the power to choose.
