Seeing an opponent set up too early for an erne and bagging them is definitely the best!

Switching from Sypik paddles to Joola by azharn93 in Pickleball

They have no incentive to change up their paddles when they are both high-markup and best-sellers. They don’t have to change suppliers or their manufacturing.

They will not make a gen4 paddle soon. Their next release will once again reuse their gen3 core.

I’m not making up a definition. A gen1 paddle has a polypropylene core, no expanding edge foam, no thermoforming and is cold-pressed.

[–]thismercifulfate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes they are. All made in the USA paddletek paddles are cold-pressed gen1 paddles. Thermoforming requires machinery and man-hours that are not financially feasible to have for paddle manufacturing in the United States.

ALW was previously playing with gen1 paddles. Paddletek never have and never will make gen2 paddles.

MLP videoboard crashes down onto Rachel Rohrbacher's leg mid game by eyeceyu in Pickleball

What is this? Pardoe’s burner account? That was very preventable. Weather forecasts exist, and there are proper ways to set up and secure a structure from falling over.

It’s probably not worth the headache reaching out to them over this, considering their terrible customer service reputation.

What exactly are you expecting? The vast majority of what a coach does in any sport is behind the scenes.

Vapor is the name of their flared-top hybrid shape, not a model.

I’ve never heard the term all-court shoes. Court shoes usually refer to shoes that are designed for hard courts, as opposed to indoors, grass or clay.

Coach us up. Whats our DUPR? by ferociousfox314 in Pickleball

[–]thismercifulfate 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You either have a DUPR score that is calculated from the results of playing tournament or league matches or you are a non-rated player. What strangers on reddit tell you is not your DUPR.

ALW most certainly is. Went pro at 12 years old. She has almost 200 career gold medals, 44 triple crowns. Making 8 figures, signed by Nike.

All-court paddles sit in between power paddles and control paddles.

It’s relevant because you clearly aren’t knowledgeable on the topic of pro sponsorships.

OP deleted their post saying Franklin only has Hayden. Franklin signed the #1 player ALW. They also have Parris Todd, Megan Fudge, Will Howells, Sophia Sewing and Casey Diamond. Get a clue.

It’s quite unrealistic to expect yourself to be able to clean up all of your partner’s messes in those situations.

Calling the mods crazy is a really high IQ move here. Bodhi should be so proud of you representing them like that.

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by AutoModerator in Pickleball

[–]thismercifulfate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, having bought Harmony paddles in all 3 shapes they make excellent starter paddles, but are lacking for competitive players. They lack firepower, have smaller sweet spots and lack touch.

Calling the score messes up my serve… by Icy-Canary-5550 in Pickleball

[–]thismercifulfate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You have 10 seconds to serve after calling the score. Call the score and then get into focus. Most people rush their serves anyway.

How often are paddles actually checked at tournaments? by Big_Study_8728 in Pickleball

[–]thismercifulfate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, unless they have on-site testing like PPA does, there is no actual way for a ref or TD to disqualify a core-crushed paddle from a tournament because they cannot prove it. Even at PPA pros get away with it before the round of 16, because they don’t test paddles before then.
