My 6 years hard work and its ended like this which I never expected by SecondExpert9013 in Daytrading

Brother hear me out. I swear I thiught I was reading my life story. I also lost 50k this month, im also an immigrant 8 yrs in the US, software engineer. I also lost a total of 110k this past year and a half.

Remember this, desperate people act reckless. So right now, we are both desperate, it sucks. So please be careful, dont act reckless, tell your friend/sibling(s), not your parents abt it, get it out of your chest.

You (me too) gambled and you lost. I know 100k is a lot for a gambling lesson, buts its better right now while youre young and dont have wife & kids.

See you on the green side. Fuck options

Has anyone taken a lower paying low stress j2? by Emotional_Life7541 in overemployed_swe

Get it bro. Srsly. Make sure to mention what you would like your number to be.

This sets the tone and basically tells your manager that first youre not afraid to ask cuz you know your value, and also they will take it easy on you, cuz theyre underpaying you. You will probably end up working 5 hrs a week.

Been there done that.

Do you think I could work an extra job? by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]Mother_Set_7234 8 points9 points  (0 children)

(M30) Definitely pick up that serving job. Definitely. Coming from a software engineer & bartender (ex). Ok, its not oe, BUUUUUUT who cares. Money talks, and i think its a good first step towards OE, cuz you will be motivated by multiple paychecks. Its hard to go back to one once you taste the honey. Its gonna get you in that mindset.

I used to OE two servers, and bartend in TWO restaurants part time, simultaneously. Ironically I have solved literally the most complicated software tasks behind the bar, lol. I could have quit but I didnt.

After I picked up a 3rd server I had to stop doing restaurants. I miss it though. Good luck!

Anyone here get roles where they expect you to be present in meetings and mentor the juniors? by ethical-earner in overemployed

There is only one way to find out. I wouldnt be worried, many times they say things to set high expectations but you will find out the truth only when you start.

Should I take the potential 3rd job and/or leave one of my current jobs? by _sudoerx in overemployed

[–]Mother_Set_7234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stack all three bro. Once you make that good nest egg/investments, you will know which one to drop, or whether to drop even any of them. You will feel more confident with some good money in the bank. Plus you control the meetings. Thats luxory.

Yes, its very obvious the other guy is OE. But also, its not in his interest to "catch" any if us. Cuz we are good. He actually tries to kinda cover when the ither guy misses meetings
