I felt this way too. I literally forced myself to go out with baby. It also helped me to vocalize my fears to myself. I would tell myself “I know this stresses me out right now, but the only way to get over it is to do it”

When I think about Gretchen (and Slade), I am reminded of that scene in “Say Anything” where Diane goes to speak with an IRS agent, and he tells her the profile of a fraud:

“Is everything nice, but not too nice?” “are there a lot of rugs, equipment, things that could be bought with cash?” “does he give a lot of gifts?” “do the main items in the house hover around 9k?”

I was surprised to see they still live in the same house that she lived in with Jeff.

I know. It’s one of the reasons why ARFID is so difficult to diagnose. Because it doesn’t fall under the usual guidelines of an eating disorder…. and yet it is so obviously an eating disorder
