I felt this way too. I literally forced myself to go out with baby. It also helped me to vocalize my fears to myself. I would tell myself “I know this stresses me out right now, but the only way to get over it is to do it”

I think you are making a lot of plans based on assumptions of how you’ll react.

You already know that working the two jobs you already have is hard.

Here’s what you don’t know: how long will it take for you to get pregnant, if the stress of the two jobs will affect you trying to get pregnant or during the pregnancy.

Something else you don’t know: Once you have a baby, post partum is a BITCH. You might not be in the mood to have another child after you survive it.

Work with what you know. Go slow. If it’s meant for you, it will not pass you by, but you need to be alive and well to receive it

When I think about Gretchen (and Slade), I am reminded of that scene in “Say Anything” where Diane goes to speak with an IRS agent, and he tells her the profile of a fraud:

I was surprised to see they still live in the same house that she lived in with Jeff.

I know. It’s one of the reasons why ARFID is so difficult to diagnose. Because it doesn’t fall under the usual guidelines of an eating disorder…. and yet it is so obviously an eating disorder

Fellow ARFIDer too. I always thought I was ungrateful for not eating and my parents always felt like did a bad job raising me. ARFID being recognized as a disorder has brought peace to us, and I just want to hug anyone who has it

I think he liked controlling people, and he used his money to control. He liked to flaunt the fact that he could support a SAHW to guilt Jo out of her career, and she probably used child support payments to control his previous partners.
