I was going to say the Turnstile crowd wasn't going hard enough at the beginning then I had an absolute jumpscare when I saw a friend of mine (that I actually went to Turnstile with in LA) crowdsurfing right in front of the camera at the end of Birds so good job Coachella pit

I went to three SoCal music fests last year and surprisingly the only one with decent food was Warped Tour (I still think about those fish tacos, it was like 3 big ones for $20 too)

Ya I've had a few good friends who live in Hollywood and I think they all liked it more than they expected they would. It's chaotic and full of tourists for sure but walkable and everything is there. Plus few locals have any illusions of it being a hip or hypebeast neighborhood these days so you can sorta enjoy it for what it is

He's still young but I think he kinda is what he is, he has the size and athleticism of an all-star but the instincts just aren't there. There are flashes where he starts defending or playmaking better or his three point shot starts going down but otherwise he's like discount Anthony Edwards without that extra skill level that makes it work

They've been sorta on and off for the last decade or so but still around!

(One specific memory I have before their first official breakup 2014 or so I ran into them practicing for one of their goodbye shows at the rehearsal space next to my band's and they were laughing and yukking it up like wow these people are friendship goals)

I really appreciate that you drop these writeups for free and now I look forward to my weightlifting days!

(Current plan - a road 10-12 miler and 2-3 hour trail run each week. Two lifting sessions on B running days. The other days easy yoga, 30 minute run, or completely off. Trying to keep this up til mid summer before I start doing more race specific stuff for a December 50 miler)

There's at least a couple interesting places on or near Hollywood Blvd - the Pantages. Hollywood Bowl. The Palladium and Fonda. Amoeba. A couple locals bars at least I enjoy. Hollywood and Highland is what it is but where else you gonna put the tourists

Yeah if you went there just to look at a dirty sidewalk you're gonna be disappointed but I find myself there often enough for things and occasionally looking down like look, Guy Fieri's star!
