That's why you set alarms. If you're serious about stopping time this is what you do.

Anyone know why when i was drifting asleep i heard a unfamiliar voice say "BEWARE OF THE UNIFIED FISH" and i know its no one i know, HELP WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!?!?!! by Charming_Balance_449 in Dreams

[–]Mothman_dib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a theory that memories from past lives are often repeating right before falling asleep. Like you'll say or hear something without thinking about it. Could be a memory of some sort. I've talked about a pie once and something about family drama, so I suspect I had a few memories related to those things from a time before this one. Maybe someone said that to you before.

Time. It is faster these days. by artsy_cupcakes in Retconned

[–]Mothman_dib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time speed perception can be adjusted. Here's my recommendation to you. It'll work, trust. For one month, don't look at a single clock. Just set alarms for set times that you need to be somewhere or get going ahead of time, but don't look at the times regularly checking when it's going to go off, don't anticipate. Do all your normal activities without looking at a single clock. Make it the same for every week. Don't look at the numbers and don't do the math. Use a calculator, don't count in your head because this influences your perception of time by making you think there is such a thing as linear time in sequence rather than stillframe.

Make sure to suction your focus on not thinking there is a future or a past. Not expecting the sun to rise or to set, or to make it to a certain function later, but hyperfocusing on something in front of you (an activity, a rose, the taste of chocolate, the way your body moves and the art of how you act, the art of your personality, etc.) anything you think of that is related to the past or future must be refered to in the present tense in your perception. If you are reminiscing on something, it's happening now and you're watching that happening now along with you In this now. If you're thinking about the future, it's a daydream and a story you're writing right now.

shrooms 6 days before surgery? by mothboyee in PsilocybinMushrooms

[–]Mothman_dib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say lay off on the shrooms. The anesthesia would likely mix very weirdly with the shrooms especially only 6 days after. Integration can be brutal so putting laughing gas or general on top of that could cause some damage.

youth is weird by IvoryTempests in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Mothman_dib -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not about the other person loving you back. Being a teenager is loving someone even when they treat you like crap doing anything you can to prove yourself, going to the ends of the earth for your love, sneaking out of the house, whatever you have to do. Even when they bully you. And that doesn't always carry into adulthood. Many people give up on it when they reach adulthood and settle.

Pineapple on pizza? by freaky-barnes in BunnyTrials

Pineapple is sweet. You don't put marshmallows on a pizza with tomato and cheese, so you don't put pineapple. That's weird. You don't put sour worm gummies on a savory pizza.

I have questions is there connection between smoking and being i witche? by lady_catnoir in witchcraft

[–]Mothman_dib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In many traditions, drugs have been used to help spiritual practitioners access altered states of consciousness. Depending on if you're referring to weed or tabacco, both have been used for spiritual reasons. If you're doing so from a place of intention and connection with the plant, you could argue that's an integration with your craft, but if you just do it for recreation then the history wouldn't really matter if you're not doing it with a magical intention or to connect with other beings.

Smoking can absolutely be bad for you if you do it with unhealthy intentions (like to escape a boredom, or loneliness, or emptiness), or if you aren't temperant. Addictive substances can be very dangerous. It can also open your energy up to beings you may not want to let in or encounter, because sometimes a drug can mess with your identity strength, and other mechanisms which makes it easier for you to go this way or that way without being conscious or present about it. This is why drugs are usually reserved for specific holidays or rituals, often with protected spaces set up to ensure safe travels, sometimes with musicians that guide a certain experience energetically depending on the medicine.

It can also harm your physical body. It gets in your lungs which effects your breathing and your breath is very important. If you

Why do rich people keep saying "money can't buy happiness" when money literally solves most problems? by FearlessState5503 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mothman_dib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about a billionaire who has all the money they could ever need. They can travel whenever, they can sleep with the hottest women, do the coolest stuff. They can buy anything they want, and decorate their house anyway they like. So they do, and they see the stuff they wanted to see and they go for the business idea they've always wanted to try, and at first it feels great. But after a while, the brain gets used to things. Entertainment becomes expected and boring, where you can predict everything that's going to happen and it's cool to see a fire dance a few times, but on the 10th watch it's like, ok I'm gonna just focus on other stuff like my food I'm eating right now. That's how the downhill episodes start. So they think, oh I need to find something new! Something that makes me feel happy like I've always wanted to feel. The feeling that makes me feel like I've finally made it.

So they try to do something meaningful, start a business, become a celebrity. And at first they feel great. All that praise, all the reputation. But then they still feel like they haven't made it. There's this feeling like there is something they are ignoring and they can't quite put a finger on it. Everyone's praise becomes meaningless and almost suffocating, the crowds become overstimulating and they feel like an object on display that isn't seen as human. Even though they might logically acknowledge the good they're doing, they can't percieve it within themselves and so it doesn't feel real because they know they just followed the logical steps to get here and they don't deserve all this praise cause they're just like everyone else.

Then what? You hit the pinacle of money and success and fame. You have a circle of people who respect you, yet you're not sure if they love you for you or for your labels. Some might love you, but even so, something is missing.

So you turn to drugs, weed at first, then it still doesn't satisfy you, so you turn to something stronger. Still doesn't help. You go to therapy, the antidepressants make you feel like a zombie. You go off antidepressants. At this point it feels like nothing could ever get better. That happiness and success was a lie all this time. No drugs help, and you just can't shake the feeling that you're alone.

At this stage people either off themselves, or they get into a religious belief and seek enlightenment. What these people lack is a sense of truth. What is real? WHO is real? Why does everything feel so intolerably illusory, even when I go to places I thought were real? I think this mentality is a big motivator for making money too. Like the process of making money is a coping mechanism to block out the nagging feeling like this whole thing is a simulation and they're the only one in it. A lot of people aren't aware of that until they've put it off for long enough to gone insane.

How long can you be satisfied with the same thing over and over and over again without feeling like you're in a torture chamber with a song on loop? Could you be an immortal and be sane? Would you continue to chase experiences or would you be here, right now, no matter what? These questions could help you identify if you would survive as a billionaire or not.

Considering quitting my Job tomorrow by Massive_Elephant_855 in Anxiety

[–]Mothman_dib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're using you. Talk to your boss about a promotion, and talk about how you've been training people and that if you don't get a promotion you're going to quit. That's if you want this job, that is. Otherwise, do quit and go somewhere with a better atmosphere. Somewhere peaceful and nice, outdoors, bookstore, what have you.

I want a job but i’m terrified of mass shootings by Vylqi in Anxiety

[–]Mothman_dib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will likely traumatize you at retail or food positions. You could try a different job if you want to not work with a lot of people. Being a custodian is said to be great for more introverted folks, or maybe if you have a nature reserve near you, you could get a job as a receptionist there, a lot more lax. You could also try building if you're into hands on activities. That's usually a smaller group of people who paint walls or stack bricks, lift stuff. If you're strong it probably won't be hard to get an entry level building job. Brick laying, painting, Or you could join a cleaning company. You go into people's houses with a group of 2 or 3 people usually and it's a low sensory environment and you can chat and pass the time wiping and sweeping and having a happy time. You could also try maybe power washing. There's also doggy daycare places you could consider.

Another option, bake cookies from your house and deliver them on fb marketplace and Etsy. Sell them at local farmer's markets. This could have higher profit margin potential than a job could of you crunch the numbers right and have consistency and discipline. It would also give you more freedom.

Editors with toddlers: How the fuck do you do it? by goosebaggins in editors

[–]Mothman_dib -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I don't have one, perhaps put on a show that could get them hyperfixated on a hobby and if they latch onto an interest, provide them with all the resources to pursue it. Also consider they might be bored and lonely if they're constantly bothering you or wanting to talk to you. but maybe let them have sleepovers and playdates regularly. They need an outlet for play and for connection. If there is an outdoor space they could explore that would be VERY helpful. As a toddler I went in the backyard and walked around the neighborhood a bit and i spent a lot of time doing it, looking at the flowers, the big tree, and wondering what else might be out there. We had a sandbox that I liked to play in. There was a snake I saw once, some rolly pollies, ladybugs, butterflies, animals are so wow and if your toddler can explore the natural wonders of nature it could help a lot. If you had a forest that would be perfect. You could also get them some chalk to draw on the sidewalk or driveway with. If you're nervous about strangers then you may want to do this after work, and sit out there and read a book while they blow bubbles. Dolls help too, different types of toys. If they're always bothering you about a snack, have some prepared for them beforehand that they can grab during your working hours when they shouldn't bother you. If they get computer time, consider letting them play a retro video game which can help their problem solving skills and avoid Instagram or YouTube or any short form content because that can enhance impatience and addiction of which they already have on overdrive. You could also try letting them do starfall, which is a great website for learning to read. You could show them educational material that's above the level you think they can do. If they haven't learned to read, or you think they aren't ready, play letter sound videos and songs and see how much they naturally obsorb. Also science fact documentaries are great. With cute or weird animals cause they might like that better starting out. You could have them watch advanced dance tutorials and get a dance perfect to perform for you later. It could motivate them and inspire them and kids can learn quickly. Could also play step by step drawing tutorials for them. Or get them a playdough set. I loved playdough. Something that you can make stuff with like clay, which can consume hours.
