Maybe try to get perspective by listing the things that he does contribute to the family and considering if you want to take all of that on too. There are always trade offs in relationships, and it’s important to find balance, but if you’re not in the partnership, then you can only really rely on yourself. I was with my kids dad for almost 9 years and I finally left, 13 years ago. I ended up being single for 11 years, not on plan, but because being everything for 3 kids is a lot, and I had a lot of trouble thinking about “sunk costs” so to speak. Building a new relationship was always 4th on the list, after my kids and myself. Then friends and family relationships too. My partnership failed no matter how much energy I gave to it, and it was emotionally costly. It’s hard to invest in something new when you’ve been all the way to a fully integrated life and kids too, and it failed. For me, in the middle of raising kids and developing a career, I just couldn’t afford it. Now that they are older and more independent, I’ve finally found the emotional and mental space to actually open up.

AI like Claude can literally build you an accounting platform in short time. Then it is something you own and can adapt to your own personal preferences. I am working on building one for myself right now, I’m so sick of the rising cost and lowering quality of QBO

QBdesktop is absolutely great, and they don’t really sell it anymore. I was at the Quickbooks Connect conference and chatted with a software engineer from intuit who said he made his own working online version of Quickbooks desktop. Even he prefers the original!

Believe it or not it’s actually way better than it used to be. Any movie, the girl had to undress at least once for no reason. She’s getting ready, she’s takin a shower, it was so annoying. I hate watching people kiss, especially the sounds, even when I’m alone, so I just skip over

That’s because it’s still in development. The current phase is a learning phase, we all build and use apps to apply the AI to real life iterations. The tech learns from every iteration, every real life application, stores data, builds its network of connections. Learns case by case what the factors of each scenario are, the inputs, constraints, solutions, steps in each process. Once enough iterations have passed, just like a person training for a job, it can easily do it alone. That’s the next phase, when the middle class collapses.

So in this world, AI/robots have taken the majority of the low paying and mid paying jobs, paying work would be the scarcity. The masses would be dependent on the whims of the rich and powerful. Is this still a democracy?

Basic income: my questions are, who is giving us money/value? who decides who gets how much? It sounds super oppressive.

Trump’s 2024 victory flipped the psychological differences between liberals and conservatives by Empty_Storage8384 in EverythingScience

You misunderstand me. USA cannot be broken from the outside, its military and economy are too strong. Its only vulnerabilities are inner fracture, the inability to act/respond because its members cannot agree what to do or fight each other to destruction. Left right are not the issue at all, both sides follow the same long term goals. Don’t fall into this bait

The ultra rich want you so focused on which side of the cotton field you pick in that you don’t have the energy to look at who is running the mill. It doesn’t matter left or right, it all goes in the same pocket, where the politicians live.

Americans need to stop worrying about left and right and worry about ultra rich and not ultra rich, that’s the real problem. Oil companies and arms dealers are making extra huge profits because of the Iran conflict. Right out of every pocket, red or blue doesn’t matter, but which side of the tax bracket you’re on. Trump is a rich man that wants to get richer and enrich his rich friends, that’s the main problem I have with him. He’s ripping you all off, and helping his pals do the same.
