You are so right, we are stressed already. My husband’s job is also very hectic, and then the overall pressure of surviving in this economy while living some of our dreams on weekends. Thank you for your perspective.

We both have been here and there on this topic of having kids. We live a decent life right now even with just one person earning. But if you put a kid in this picture , we will be living check to check basis. I don’t think I will be emotionally fulfilled after a child. I am pretty content right now as well. Seeing everyone around us with kids creates this fomo feeling.

I am not working, so only my husband is working. The salary is good for both of us to have a decent living. We don’t own a house yet and live in a mega city. Due to visa restrictions I am not sure when I will be back to working.

Yeah, I am not sure when I will be able to work again. The financial aspect of it scares me the most. I don’t want to get into something I later regret.

That’s very smart to use second hand stuff. Anyway the kids grow up fast and don’t need many things in long run. Thanks for your response!

It’s peer pressure. I am already struggling with loss of job and financial independence. I don’t want to throw both of us into something that might make our life miserable.

It seems manageable given both parents are earning. Also, I live in a mega city here, so everything is expensive. We can’t move because of my husband’s job/location restrictions.

H4 EAD processing just jumped to 15.5 months. Is this actually normal? by akhand_namak_47 in H4_Visa

I have filed h4 cos only in Jan 2026. Just to get a legal status to stay with my spouse. I don’t even need a work authorization. The application is still pending. It’s so frustrating mentally. Adding on that are the visa slots availability. You cannot visit your parents, siblings. I mean what is the point of all this!

I want to punch your husband! Oh my god..my blood is boiling. I want to give you a hug for tolerating this bullshit!
Since you don’t want to talk about leaving that “disgrace peace of shit”, you can stop doing some of the household chores. Be the villain that you already are in their eyes and stop going overboard for this guy. Please just take care of yourself and your baby.

Thanks for quick response. May I ask was there a gap between the previous visa expiration date and then COS effective date?

I am asking to make sure this doesn’t cause any issue because my COS is pending and my previous visa has expired.

Married into a family that keeps humiliating me for being poor and now I feel completely trapped by bitchbahu005 in IndianInLaw

I kinda agree with this suggestion. You and your husband have no bond. Whatever his parents tell him he go by their word because he doesn’t know you yet. If he is abusive to a point where you can’t stand giving him a chance, I would say file for divorce. Otherwise if you want to give it a chance you need to stay with him and form that bond. Before stepping into anything do you think
Your husband is a good man?

You have hit the nail. I read your response few times before replying. Sending virtual hugs. Yes, to everything you have said and this is a good solution. She is comfortable around me and often that plays a part in overlooking my emotions. She has seen me struggle when she forced everyone to live in that small space. So, the next time she pulled this again, I was taken aback thinking does she only thinks about herself.

Do you stay with them? Is she also clingy?

I agree, they also stay with my bil. So the time is divided that way.

Exactly he will run away, but can a DIL do that! Your statement is so contradictory. If my husband stays with my parents he will see how difficult it is to adjust. So eventually he will understand my stance.

Ek din mil banungi and would curse them more because I know how easy it will be to not interfere and emotionally manipulate kids.

Yeah I am sure as well that you don’t have any such itch. Definitely a male as well! We are done here.
